Intrigues is the second book in the Collegium Chronicles series and I'd definitely recommend reading Foundation first otherwise some things will not make sense. There is not a lot of action but what there is very well done. I thought the book ended rather abruptly, I would'd liked to have seen more grovelling from Bear and Lena, I thought Mags forgave them far too easily. The banter between Companions in the first chapter is great and the new characters fit in with the existing ones well. I look forward to the next book.

Enjoyable romp as usual from Mercedes Lackey. I am thoroughly enjoying this series of tales about the beginnings of the Collegium. The plot can be a little predictable but then that is why I am buying this series! Can't wait for the next one to come out.

This book continues the story of Mags, who we first met in Foundation, and although it answers quite a few questions it raises just as many. The writing is, as ever, absorbing, drawing you into the world of Valdemar and its inhabitants, leaving you waiting to be able to get the next book and continue with the storyline.

This is definitely a must have addition to the shelves of those who enjoy the ever growing world of the Heralds.
