5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful magical and moving, 13 May 2004
This review is from: Into the West [DVD] (DVD)
This film makes you laugh and cry, it starts with two young boys surviving in a hard bleak world with their alcholic father and moves on to be an incredible adventure story as the boys become fugitives on the run across Ireland. Through this adventure the characters find what was missing in there lives. It also has one of the most touching magical endings. Well worth buying. And fantastic for adults and children alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful adventure for Children and adults, 19 Nov 2000
By A Customer
...Into the West represents story telling at its best and simplest. It is a wonderful story that will appeal to all ages. It updates the old Irish Legend of Oisin and Tir na nOg to a Dublin council estate. But it is a fairy tale of the highest order with top performances from all involved especially the children and Tir na nOg himself. A must see for all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gaelic folklore perfectly blended with gritty modern realism, 24 Jan 2002
By Mrs. D. Green (Melton Mowbray) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a brilliant film, the story of a white stallion who befriends two irish boys. Tinkers and travellers, Dublin and piebalds, humour and sorrow. Gritty modern realism perfectly blended with Gaelic folklore and the story of TÍR na nÓG.
