I bought this book for my son about a year ago and a few weeks ago he suggested that I should read it to his younger brother who is now 8. So, for our evening reading time, we read a few chapters each night and each night I would put the book down and wish I could bring it to bed with ME so I could find out what was next! It kept me wondering what was going to happen at every part of the book. My sons loved Squijum and we would laugh at the silly things he would say. If you are an adult, you will enjoy the opportunity to share this book with your children and it made our reading time very special.

There is a young girl named Cara Daina, who was given an amulet that is her grandmothers. With the amulet she is taken to Luster. On the way she meets a manbear, a unicorn, a dragon, a bunch of delvers, a fix-it man, a hunter / her father, a dwarf, a and a squijum. Her journay takes her far across Luster. In search of a safe rough thought Luster to get to the court at Summerhaven. Cara was sent to Luster witha message for the old one (also known as the queen unicorn). With loosingand regaining the amulet. Saving her friends. Becoming friends with a dragon. Finding out why she had such a sad childhood before the age of three. What had happened to her parents. What had healed her when she was very sick. Always woundering what happened to her grandmother before she had gone to Luster. She also got a gift from a dragon for returning something rightfuly the dragons. Having her story writen into the unicorns history. Learning how and why the unicorns came to Luster. Learning what her grandmother had done to get the amulet. In the begining of the book Cara and her grandmother had to run from a person stalking them. Before Cara went to Luster her grandmother might have gotten hirt. But in the end of the book when Cara's quest is complet she gets to go bring hergrandermother home. In my opion this book is a very good book and I would recomend this book people who like books about fantisey, adventuer, and magic. The reason you need to like fantisey is because this book is about alot of things that have probly never exisested on earth and you need a emagnation to get the full extent of this book. I liked that the book lead you to a place many people only dream of going to. But i do wish that the book were longer because the book was to short in my opion.

This book was very exciting and I could not put it down. I love horses so of course the discription of the unicorn was very thrilling. The book was so imagenetive & descriptive that I could imagine myself being lifted of by the dragon & smelling the sweet flowers of luster.

This novel impressed me from the first page to the last. It is not the typical girl-and-unicorns tale. The story of Cara and her father woven into the mystical unicorn-fantasy setting balances the plot out between realism and magic. There are real-life conflicts as well as fantastic ones. The characters have depth and realism, and the storyline is obviously well-thought-out. Each character's personality seems carefully chosen. The dragon with the missing heart, added so close to the end, is a bit much, since it was completely unforeseen and there was no hinting that there would be such an event. Call it a bump on an otherwise smooth and winding road. It's a very satisfying story other than that. The following novels are definitely to be looked forward to.

I for one have read "Into the Land of the Unicorns" many times over. The story and Cara's journey is amazing. And it's not only unicorns that she meets. Read the book, and you'll understand what I mean.

We read this book together and it really helped Lindsey's reading skills and boosted her enthusiasm. We are anxiously awaiting the sequel.Thankfully, it is interesting to older children and adults.
