This is a great story for pre-school/reception children. It uses a repetitive style which children love and gradually builds the tension as the characters go further and further into the castle in search of the monster, in a similar style to the ever popular bear hunt story. At the end there is a mad dash for home which the children find exciting.
This book was also great as part of our 'Castles' project as it introduces some castle related vocabulary such as 'drawbridge' and'dungeon'.

5.0 out of 5 stars My students LOVE this book! 14 May 2001
By Amber McKinstry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I won't bore you with how great this story is....but I will say this. My copy is tattered and torn...AND the kids still want to hear it every day. They know all the words and they LOVE it. I think that is the greatest compliment I can give this book...dont you?

THE SELLER DESCRIBED THE BOOK TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION BUT IN MY OPINION IT WAS FAIR TO POOR. THE SPINE OF THE BOOK IS FALLING APART. WAS DELIVERED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
