For musicians, a 10-year anniversary is a time to look back on their first album and see how far they've come from those earliest recordings. The new Album Leaf album A Chorus of Storytellers, marks the first decade for the ... Read more in Amazon's The Album Leaf Store

The Album Leaf is a one-man project producing mainly instrumental post-rock. Fourth Album "Into the Blue Again" sits at the quieter end of the spectrum, opening with the mellow "The Light". "Always for You", "Writing on the Wall" and "Whereever I Go" are the rare songs with lyrics, but never intrude into the smooth and beautiful sounds The Album Leaf specialise in. There's a particular knack of maintaining interesting and varied instrumentals without jarring the listener out of their contemplation, and this album provides that for me.
This album is just lovely. Very haunting and just right if you like your electronic music mellow. Some tracks evoke mountains and walks in the countryside in my mind while others have a slightly harsh, more urban edge to them.
The Album Leaf is Jimmy Lavalle with a few friends and is mainly instrumental but don't let that put you off or think it's elevator music. It's a hidden gem which I hope you'll like as much as me.
I heard a track off this album on the Kiss Rehab radio show. Saw the price and read the other reviews and thought I'd give it a go... and, it's a really really good listen. I own a lot of 'chillout' music and this is an album I can listen all the way through without having to change or skip tracks. Throughly enjoyable.
