Format: Mass Market Paperback
While Zane is marketed as a modern western set in Colorado, every scene takes place indoors in a house or restaurant and Zane is supposedly a horse trainer but this is just a label. The female protagonist likewise is supposedly a neurologist but we never see her with a patient in a consulting room, she doesn't as much as treat a migraine or explain what else the job entails. So really they might have been two office workers in any city, unlike modern western tales by Debbi Rawlins or Linda Lael Miller which provide ample detail.

Zane Westmoreland has decided he's not the marrying kind, and that's what he told his girlfriend Channing. So she broke it off and moved to Atlanta. Now she's dropping back to Denver for a medical conference, and she's engaged. Zane feels badly about how the relationship ended, and he thinks Channing's fiancé has roving eyes. When they meet up again, Zane learns that much as he enjoyed his time with Channing, he never intended to settle permanently with her and so he never really appreciated her. Should he let matters be, or try to change her mind? Unknown to him, while they dated bets were laid in town about how soon the womanising Zane would find someone else to share his bed. Why would Channing put up with that?

There is a very tacky scene in a private room in a restaurant and the reader doesn't feel good about either character afterwards. Mainly I thought there is too much dialogue and not enough description or action.

The saga of the scattered Westmoreland family has been long in the making by prolific author Brenda Jackson and I came to it fresh, so I did have to cope with some backstory which regular readers would enjoy as reminders of the soap opera of their lives.

There is no lose of interest in The Westmorelands. In this two book set, Zane Westmoreland gives up his player card for a woman he thinks is lost to him forever. Now he pulls out all the stops to show her he knows the difference between love and lust. Then to add fuel to the fire, Donovan Steele demonstates that the men of Steele are as formidable as the Westmorelands. in this two book set, it's all good and the course is set for another captivating series!

I loved Mr. Zane. What woman would not want a passionate, courteous, stubborn and sexy man. What man would not want a passionate, classy and compassionate woman who loves herself enough to leave. This book shows us that if we are lucky we eventually get around to realizing what and who is most important to us. Love, drama, star crossed lovers and Hot, Hot sex is what what makes a great book. This book is one you keep.

Another Westmoreland hit by Mrs. Jackson. I love all of her novels that I have read thus far and this one did not disappoint. I also loved Intimate Seduction and the thought that went into developing each character and their particular story. Kudos Mrs. Jackson, Kudos.
