Purchased this for my nephew as he is an active little fellow - hoping he can bounce his energy away while getting great enjoyment out of it also. Love that it can also be a ball pool :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun for kids - don't expect quality 18 Nov 2010

I have owned several of these bouncers in the past few years. I actually owned two of the bouncers from one-step ahead prior to buying this one. My kids love this thing and the previous ones we've had. They both bounce in it for hours and I can be assured that they won't hurt themselves. It's like a short-term babysitter! The fact that they have so much fun is why I keep buying them (when I can't repair them anymore).

Because I've owned a few of these, I've realized that they aren't kid proof. They will tear. You should expect it when you buy one. This one doesn't seem like it's as high-quality as the bouncer from one-step, but even that one had tears. That's why when I purchased this one, I didn't expect it to be any better. I was right. Within a few weeks the bouncer had two small holes causing it to deflate everytime I inflated it. But, that isn't a problem in this house! I've learned with the other ones that if you keep a little vinyl repair in the house and it's as good as new in no-time. You need to inflate the chamber that you suspect has a hole. Press all over to find the hole. Once you find the hole, you may need to deflate the chamber. Get your vinyl repair goo out and put a large amount on the hole. Let it dry overnight and voila! Good as new for awhile longer.

I recommend using something like Aquaseal or Seamgrip. There's also a cheaper vinyl repair that I got from an Ace Hardware that seems to work as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't last 9 Dec 2009

Originally bought for winter play in the garage/basement (have Little Tikes Jump & Slide Bouncer for summer) for my son's 2nd birthday. But, like other Intex products, this inflatable castle just doesn't withstand the rigors of daily abuse. My two boys loved it, while it lasted (only two weeks). Other reviewers for Intex products mentioned patching (one of the better kits: Kwik Tek Airhead Vinyl Repair Kit), but, in my case, the material actually tore away from one of the four castle tops, creating a huge hole. This type of hole isn't necessarily patchable (though I tried), as the material is simply torn. Would not recommend...waste of money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but doesn't last long 3 Feb 2009

My 2 boys (ages 4 and 1) loved this Castle Bouncer and they played with it a lot when it was too cold to go outside. It lasted slightly less than a year when it started developing holes and leaks and I cannot keep it inflated any longer. I am going to try patching it but I was hoping it would last longer than this. You definitely need the electric pump to blow it up though. There are 5 sections that have to be inflated and you can't do it manually.

2.0 out of 5 stars NO NOT BUY!! 7 Mar 2010

Purchased this an it arrived with 2 holes- USELESS!! Do not purchase this unless you are prepared to either patch holes, or send this back at your own cost (it is heavy and EXPENSIVE to do so)!! Purchased from CMS worldwide and their customer service is non-existant- they never got back to me. Amazon's only fix was for us to pay to send it back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Castle! 5 Mar 2011

After lots of research products like this we took a leap of faith, based off other negative reviews, and decided to purchase the item anyway. I am 1000000000000% glad we did! I didn't want to spend $150 to rent a bounce-house for my sons party so started looking for alternatives. I came across this and was torn between this and the other yellow round one Amazon offers around this price. It's great. We really love it!

It withstood the party and is now up in our playroom for indoor days! My son 1, another 1yr old, a 2yr old, 3yr old, 2 4yr olds, and a 6yr old. They were all in it at once and there was plenty of room to bounce/play.

As with any plastic toy you'll want to blow it up 90% of the way and give it a good 6-8hrs before use to expand and stretch around the seams. We aired it mostly up the night before the party and then completely up at the party, which was on a concrete floor with no padding, and didn't have any problems. It feels very durable unlike the cheapo pastic-y feeling pools. I would also recommend this over the yellow round one and even the one thats round and sold at Walmart because the posts help hold the weight in. So if your child loses his balance and falls not only are the walls high enough for him not to fall over, but supported by the other sides and will hold up pretty nicely. With the others it looks like they could fall out or the plastic wouldn't support someone toppling over the sides.

I would definitely say this is not for older kids 6+. Its more geared towards younger kids who don't need to be tossed very far ;) The actual bounce piece is a blow-up mattress type thing inside the walls, you blow the base and towers up, then sides up individually, then the bounce part inside. If you're looking for something super bouncy or for older kids this is not it. The 4yr olds and 6yr old all got in it and jumped around rough-housing a bit and it held up just fine but I can't imagine older kids really enjoying it and possibly being too rough.

I would recommend it. Amazon has a great return policy so even if you are on the fence I'd take the chance and give it a try yourself. I'm not sure why the others have such negative reviews on the product because I had none of the problems they seem to have had. Air it up about 90% and let it sit for a while, overnight/whatever, and then finish blowing it up. That's just common sense when using plastic-y products. I will write another review a few months down the line to let you know how the product is holding up. Overall we are very pleased and consider this a great buy!
