Whatever said about Jimi Tenor he still rides white horses onstage and then he makes excellent, seedy adventures like Intervision. From the opener, "Outta space" youre quickly trasported into a sleazy world of big dirty bass squelches, regretful melodies and the just downright sordidness of Sugardaddy and its grunting rythm patterns. Intervision is Jazz, topshelf. This record grows and grows, it has depth beyond any other jimi record and is undoubtably the best place to start your tenor collection.

I think that this is the best album from Jimi Tenor. There's an excellent blend of slow smooth sounds and vocals like in Downtown and a bit faster and harser sounds like in Sugardaddy for example. The best part about this album is perhaps the fact that it only gets better the more you listen to it.

In this album Jimi Tenor finds the perfect match between jazz and groovy music, not necessarily dance music, nor breaks or nu- jazz! We can find this record amuzing for laidback listening or to create the perfect ambience in our house.

Bonkers! 26 July 2000
By Mark Brooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Jimi Tenor is the best pop star I have seen since David Bowie! This album is testament to the mans place in the rich tapestry of rawk! Tenor pulls off a rare trick here by wearing his influences on his sleeve (Baz White, Stan Getz, Gary Numan, Frank Sinatra, Gary Glitter...) yet somehow creates something quite original.
Sugar Daddy with its Glitter Band drum beat over a moody Human League synth melody is the most immediate track on the album, but with repeated listening other tracks soon become favourites. Overall, a mad, humorous and eclectic mix of styles fed through the tenorizer and a mad scientist at the controls. What more could you possibly ask?
Buy this album and help make Jimi a star!
Funky, Finnish & Fresh!!! 7 Jun 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Don't expect the usual warped techno of the Warp label, but instead this Finn churns out some unique, homemade funk and soul on Intervision. Wiping Out is particularily groovy with it's vocoded vocals and jazzy sounds. Jimi might fancy himself a Scandinavian Barry White on tracks like Downtown and a Nordic Marvin Gaye on Can't Stay With You Baby. Top marks for the swingin' instrumentation and imagination put into this one man show.

THE FUNKIEST MAN IN THE UNIVERSE IS WHITE!!! 28 Jan 2008
By NATHAN PRINCE - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
WHERE DO I START? I BOUGHT THIS CD IN A CLEARANCE RACK ON A WHIM. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF JIMI TENOR BEFORE. I JUST LIKED THE FACT THAT HE WAS PLAYING AN INSTRUMENT ON THE BACK COVER. I TOOK THE CD HOME, AND PLAYED IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. I WAS FLOORED!!! FIRST OF ALL, TRACKS ONE THROUGH TEN ARE MORE THAN "JUST JAZZ". THEY EACH HAVE A FUNK ELEMENT TO THEM (WHICH MAKE THEM ALL STAND-OUTS!!!). TRACK FIVE SOUNDS LIKE CURTIS MAYFIELD FROM THE FUNKY 70'S; TRACK NINE IS FUNKIER THAN ANYTHING THAT THE TALKING HEADS HAS EVER PUT OUT; TRACK SEVEN BRINGS DUKE ELLINGTON'S CLASSIC SONG "CARAVAN" INTO THE 21ST CENTURY (AND THE DANCE FLOOR). BUT THE STAND-OUT TRACK IS EIGHT. THIS SONG MAKES PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC SEEM LIKE AMATUERS IN THE WORLD OF FUNK!!! TRACK ELEVEN IS THE ONLY SONG THAT IS IN FACT "JUST JAZZ", BUT ALL OF THE SONGS ON THIS INCREDIBLE CD RECEIVED AN INDIVIDUAL FIVE-STAR RATING FROM ME. I ONLY PAID $1.99 FOR THIS CD, BUT AFTER HEARING IT ONCE, IT'S WORTH $199.00 (MAYBE MORE!!!) PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, AND PICK UP THIS 1996 IMPORTED GEM AT ANY PRICE.
