Extraordinary 20 Oct 2011

This is a true masterpiece. The world created in this novel is nothing short of astonishing. The twists and turns of the plot are incredible. The language is amazingly beautiful. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read, and I have read hundreds. An extraordinary book. I can't wait to read the rest of the Chronicles.

I have avoided Ms. Rice for years. The idea of "another vampire book" was a bit dull and it was a best seller so it must be rubbish ...

Totally wrong.

I was wrapped up in the story from the get go. The images are rich and full of depth.

I can now see why it was and should be a best seller and why the movie was so good. It stuck to the storyline pretty faithfully and worked with the tale.

As another reviewer says, the worst thing about this book is that it will encourage you to read on. Which I am now doing My bank balance may not survive Ms. Rices' series : Regards, CW.

5 stars 11 Nov 2010
By Rebecca
I'm really such a dreaming lush when it comes to my Anne Rice vampires. So full of romance and pain, and when you combine the two, the characters are just beautiful to me. I really like Anne Rice's writing style so descriptive and you can almost see the characters emotions dripping out of the pages. Queen of the damned was my favorite in the series just because of all the history in it. However other than that I think this first book, Interview with a Vampire is my next in line favorite out of the series. The book was the introduction to the dark world of Louis, Lestat, Marius and oh so many more. One reason I like this book is because it is narrated by Louis. While I like Lestat and I enjoyed following him through all the adventures, However I always missed my heartbroken Louis.
I read this book first in 8th grade I think. My mom had it on her book shelf so I was probably only 13. As an adult have have read it at least twice since then and loved it just the same, if not more.
