5.0 out of 5 stars Another enjoyable ITC show 5 April 2011
By Colin Smith "keep on running" TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Not to be confused with that other crime series "Man From Interpol", this early ITC show was first broadcast from 1959-60, and stars Hungarian-born Charles Korvin in the lead role as Paul Duval, an Interpol investigator joined by fellow investigator, Mornay (played by Edwin Richfield).
Duval's globetrotting investigations cover a wide range of cases, including murder, robbery, extortion, blackmail, counterfeit money, an attempt to track down a stolen deadly bacteria, and a story about an unexploded bomb lying against a Scottish dam. Theres a number of familiar guest stars, including Alfred Burke, Patrick Troughton, Warren Mitchell and Donald Pleasence.

This is yet another very enjoyable ITC series, very much in keeping with many other of the company's productions, and for fans of ITC shows, this is well worth a look.
Picture and sound quality are OK (although not as good as some other Network releases). This complete series of 39, twenty-five minute black and white episodes are complete and uncut, no subtitles.

The special features are:
*Extensive Image Galleries.
*PDF Material.

A brief synopsis of each episode is featured on the inside of the single-size DVD case, which holds all five discs.
Another great release from Network.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interpol Calling 28 Nov 2012
By Miss M. Potter TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:DVD
Charles Korvin, who had come from Hungary and been reasonably successful as a Hollywood actor in a number of films, stars in this early ITC show. Interpol Calling was produced and screened in Britain between 1959-1960.
ITC had begun in the mid 1950s as a branch of ITV in Britain to great success producing programmes for internatiaonal sales around the world. They began with historical based programmes that would have international appeal. Shows such as The adventures of Robin Hood established the quality of ITC with high production values. After a run of various historical based series ITC came up with shows in a modern context such as this wonderful offering Interpol Calling.
The series acted as a stepping stone from historical international appeal to modern international appeal by concentrating on the international police force Interpol.
This show was made in black and white and although it is an early example of ITC it has much to offer. It is an excellent show and it is a great example of British Television production of the early 1960s
There are thirty nine half hour episodes that celebrate the cases of the files of the International Criminal Police Organisation Interpol.
Inspectors Duval and Morray, two detectives operating out of Interpol's Paris headquarters, investigate murders, foil blackmailers, arrest hijackers and assassins all around the world.
Each episode begins with a speeding car that crashes through a checkpoint barrier, illustrating, as the voice over suggests, that
"Crime knows no frontiers. To combat the growing menace of the international criminal, the police forces of the world have opened up their own national boundaries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jet-Age Detection at Its Slickest 21 May 2014

Clever stories. They pack a lot into these half-hour shows. Charles Korvin is superb, he should have been a bigger star in the movies. Of course, he was blacklisted for a decade or so in Hollywood. A pity they didn't do more than one season of 'Interpol Calling', his last foray as a headliner.
