1.0 out of 5 stars Worm world or just mud?, 16 Feb 2007
I am a childminder so bought this as an activity to do with a range of children from 2 upto 11 years.
It is really terrible. Ours has been going for about 4 weeks now (the max time wormworld say you should keep the worms in for) and you would not know there were worms in there! Although the box is quite thin, the worms still manage to stay 'in the middle' and so out of sight.(there are worms in there, 9 in fact, 10 is the max number allowed) Aload of cobblers and a complete waste of money.
Their is a tiny booklet in there telling you about worms, which is slightly interesting, but by far the most enjoyable part of the whole thing was digging for worms in the first place. You would be better off saving your money and getting an old bucket.

Wild Science - Worm World
My 9 year old enjoyed setting up the unit and finding the worms. Unfortunately, once the worms had buried themselves, we did not see them again. They didn't come up for any of the 'food' that we put in for them. 4 weeks later we tipped them out. They were all still alive, but as we never saw them it was a waste of time and money. My son was very dissapointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great results in the end., 3 Jul 2009

I bought this kit for my nephew who is really into nature and knows probably all there is to know about worms and bugs. We have a wormery in the back garden and so he was really excited to get the kit up and running to see what the worms would do. Within about half an hour we were putting the worms in the kit and after a few days the worms had started to mix up all the different layers. We left the worms in the kit for slightly longer than what it states in the instructions, but with great results.
