I bought this for my son a year or two ago and like so many well-intentioned presents it went into the cupboard and stayed there. This weekend he brought it out and as it wasn't an electronic game, I agreed to let him have use of the kitchen sink for a couple of hours. I was amazed by how much fun he had! I was more impressed by the kit itself, which contained everything that he needed (apart from water!). The instructions were clear - with pictures to help. The safety instructions and equipment were child-friendly - gloves, mask and goggles all to fit; the droppers for the food colouring were slow releasing; the diagrams of the equipment made it all easy to identify - so basically, he could do everything himself - I just had to be nearby. So many of these kits require you to have a cupboard full of additional ingredients to make them work and so many are disappointing in what they deliver, that it was a very pleasant surprise to come across this kit. He even took his "fish eggs", "tadpoles" and "intestines" into school to show everyone! And we still have enough left for at least one, if not two more sessions. Not enitrely convinced about the educational value - there are questions (and answers) in the book - again, enough information but not too much - but my 9 year old was having way too much fun with the slime to worry about that!
