My daughter wanted a "butterfly toy" for her sixth birthday. She didn't have anything specific in mind, so after much searching, I bought this. The paint supplied will *never*, ever produce the vivid colors on the package. You can see just the faintest tinge of color once it has dried. Also, the butterfly hardly ever works. It has to be placed in the fullest, brightest sun or it won't work. Since we live in Scotland, we don't get that very often. Still, she likes it, so I guess that is what is important. Just be aware, if you want those bright colors, you'll have to color the butterfly with something other than the supplied paint.

My daughter was given this as a Christmas present, and I would agree with the other reviewers that the paint supplied is very poor - hardly colours the wings at all! So the picture on the box is very misleading. Is also very tricky to assemble, no way an 8-9 year old could do this on their own. I know it is winter but even on a bright sunny day the butterfly has not moved at all - so very disappointing from that perspective. All in all I'd say buy something else!

this item is a waste of money, no way could a child put it together, there is not enough paint to make it pretty. Its so hard and fiddly.
