From the Author

I wrote this book out of my experiences in being part of a range of Internet related start ups since the early 90's. It is written to have broad appeal, hoping that by sharing proven success strategies that are achievable with little technical knowledge the book would be beneficial to the following audiences: mid-career men and women looking for a change; part-time and home-based moms and retirees interested in moving beyond web browsing to explore entrepreneurial opportunities; the millions of small business owners who have not yet created web sites for their businesses; the millions of "under-employed" workers looking to supplement their income with a side business; and, young people looking for careers that leverage their love of the Internet.

It is not a "get rich quick" scheme, but the first truly hands-on guide to starting an online business written for non-technical readers, packed with strategies and intriguing ideas. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

Initially I was searching for a book about how to develop a simple website for my partner's decorating business. Having never done this before, I was attracted to 'Internet Riches: The Simple Money-making Secrets of Online Millionaires' because the synopsis made it sound so easy to do, though I admit I was expecting a book with lots of hot air and of little practical use.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I read the book. In fact,I was so excited that I started a book of ideas (recommended by the author, Scott Fox) immediately and have ended up with such a raft of ideas for ME to make money that I don't have the time to develop a website for my partner's business (sorry Mick!).

Don't let the American examples in the book put you off - the internet is the same both sides of the pond and UK versions of everything referred to in the book are readily available with a bit of Googling. Anyway, the simple step-by-step guidance would probably apply to any country.

Mr Fox has a unique way of connecting with his readers, as though they know him personally, creating trust and inspiration. His book is straightforward and full of information that even a British grandmother can follow, without all the padding that often fills self-help books. Every time I turn a page I find many ideas on how best to create my perfect e-business.

In all, if you want to be an Internet Entrepreneur - buy this book. If you are only remotely interested in setting up a website - still buy this book. You might find that it takes you somewhere you weren't expecting it to!

I've been trying to come up with a new idea for an Internet business but have been getting nowhere at all, and so I thought that I would try this book to see if it gave me some inspiration.

Much to my surprise, I found that it did. I can't claim that it was 100% down to the book, but it got me to put my thinking cap on and start thinking in some different directions.

Of course, the claims of quickly becoming a millionaire need to be taken with a very large piece of salt, but stranger things have happened!

After discussing how to get your creative juices flowing on coming up with a good idea, the rest of the book goes through all of the steps necessary in order to set up an Internet business. It is written for the absolute novice - no website experience is necessary at all. I was also impressed with the way that the writer has investigated the cheapest options in all cases allowing anyone to have a go for no more than $25 a month.

For me the information here was a little basic, but it served as a useful refresher course because the information is still current.

All in all, it's well worth the money.

I bought this book recently, and found that it answered all the questions I had about getting up and running on the internet. Magazines tend to have a tech-focus, but Fox's book is a very holistic (for want of a better word!) approach to how to maximise & optimise, from the get-go, your business idea on the web.

The book teaches you how to approach a fledgling web-business from three crucially important standpoints. You can choose for your business to focus on one of these approaches...or a combination of two, or all three. The book helps you to think about what you're enthusiastic about regarding the subject of your web-business...and Fox's line of questioning, directed at the reader, really does help to 'coax' the best solutions out of the reader. Whether 're-packaging' information for professionals in a newsletter, or selling jars of grandma's rustic apricot chutney, the author guides you through everything you need to know regarding how to do it on the internet, to a wider audience than you ever could have imagined.

The author really does know whereof he speaks: he's worked in large corporations before, and knows how to prepare similar corporate foot-soldiers to strike out on their own with a web-business. With inexpensive web-hosting and professional template systems, it's never been easier to set up an internet-based firm, and no magazine article, or other book I've found is as up-to-the-minute in it's approach to aiding people to exploit the very best of these new tools.

It's extremely easy to read, too, and does not assume of the reader any previous experience of the web.

Buy it.

Scott Fox takes you through a well thought out process to help you come up with realistic business that you can run on line. You also get all the tools that you need to make this happen and a great deal more, too.

You will benefit from this book if you want to establish a web based business from scratch or are looking to enhance a website already online.

I learned a huge amount from this book. There are ways of making money that I did not know about. I have been able to come up with my own business proposition as a result. I have bought more than one book on the subject and I would recommend that you buy this one.
