This is a great book! Beats searching and going thru RFCs. I am writing an S/MIME plug-in for a college project. This is the first book I read regarding E-mail protocols. It's really an easy book to read. In less than 10 mins, I was able to communicate with the college SMTP server and send a mail. I would highly recommend this book to Developers (advanced and beginners alike)...

This is how a computer book should be: it is comprehensive, clearly written and quite simply the authorative work on its subject. Internet email protocols are not subject to frequent change so the book won't go out of date either. If you need to understand the protocols used to send and retrieve email as well as what happens at the client end, this is the book you need. Simply outstanding!

Satisfied! I was writing an email server program, in Borland Delphi (Pascal).

I bought this book to help me learn E-mail protocols. The book helped me, oh yes, explaining the protocols I needed (their commands and how they are used). I haven't finished the book yet, but the email server's DONE, up and running. I used this book as a REFERENCE to email protocols.
