I've owned one of these for 2 years now. I also own a "Music Professor" electronic tuner/chord finder. This clip-on tuner works far faster and easier than my other tuner. It clips to the head-stock of my acoustics and electrics and works just as well on all of them. It works on vibration rather than through a microphone (the Professor uses a microphone for acoustics and a lead socket for electrics). Very quickly gives a reading with acoustics and electrics. The Professor has trouble giving a reading from acoustics but is fine using the lead socket for electrics. So if you have an acoustic I'd recommend this tuner or similar for tuning. The extra cost is well worth it I believe.

5.0 out of 5 stars An OK Tuner and Better than Most 30 Nov 2010
By C. R. Downing TOP 500 REVIEWER
Strangely, the name on this tuner would suggest it's part of the IntelliTouch range but I'm pretty sure it isn't. Especially as IntelliTouch have just brought out something similar. I've had one of these for about three years and used it every day. So pretty reliable, tough and able to withstand a lot of use. Tunes well although like all tuners you'll probably have to ping a harmonic on the bottom e to make it easy to work. And forget this on the bass.

Would also work fine on most other instuments as it's chromatic. Do yourself a favour if you are a string player - forget your pride and get one of these. (Everyone will thank you.)

However there's little doubt in my mind that the IntelliTouch brand are better quality, work slightly better, look nicer - well you get what you pay for - so check out the others as well.

Don't buy a tuner cheaper or less well made than this one - it will drive you nuts and then fall apart later. Trust me, get a good tuner - I'm a guitar teacher, I know these things.

2.0 out of 5 stars IMT 500 - lightweight 21 Feb 2009
I bought one of these tuners which worked well enough at first but after a couple of weeks, started to fall apart. The battery cover had to be taped in place to stop it falling off while in use and the hinge screw needed regular tightening to stop it flapping about and spinning on the clamp when I moved my guitar. The rubber caps on the mounting clamp both fell off and had to be glued back on. Poor value for money, in my opinion. I finally binned it in favour of an ENO ET3000+ which cost less, includes a microphone as well as the vibration tuning, can be set to guitar, bass, violin and chromatic tuning modes and is much more suitable for gigging - tough and durable and quick and easy to use.
