5.0 out of 5 stars Inte 2200BG miniPCI wireless card, 1 Feb 2009
By M. Zemmel - Published on Amazon U.S.
This review is from: Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection - Network adapter - mini PCI - 802.11b, 802.11g (Personal Computers)
This card fitted into an old Dell Inspiron laptop perfectly well. Installation required only lifting the laptop keyboard and inserting the card. The laptop is running Ubuntu Linux and this was the main reason to go with Intel chipset for the wifi card. It was recognized automatically in OS, which means driver is included in Ubuntu 8.2. Network configuration GUI tool allows simple connection to any available b- or g-wireless network. Certainly can recommend to any Dell owner who needs a miniPCI wireless card, especially running any distribution of Linux.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back online, 27 May 2010

I don't know if there is much of a difference in signal strength between models, maybe there is, but this card works just as well as my old one that died and that works for me. For the price it is perfect and beats an external or USB that I'd catch things on, I can use my laptop functionality. Put in and Acer Aspire 5570z and Vista recognized and installed the drivers.

Seller was also fast with shipping which is always a big plus in computer land.

NOW I understand the difference between a mini pci card and a mini pci express card! Thank you! Works great!
