Nice fast motherboard 10 Aug 2010

[edit] just stick with pc1333 ram and you'll have no issues, things get hairy with pc1600[edit]

This is a great motherboard when configured correctly.
Remember that the processor you purchase needs to support intel Graphics, otherwise you'll have to buy a separate pcie video card.

here's the link to the intel site for a list of processors that support integrated graphics, NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO i7 PROCESSORS IN THIS LIST:
<edit> since links are disabled try googling: "Which Intel® desktop processors contain integrated graphics" <edit>

the board comes with the voltage for ram set at 1.5V which usually needs to be increased to 1.6 or 1.65, (it's under the performace tab; change the memory profile)

I purchased an 8gb (4x2) from KomputerBay to work with this and found that I had to lower the "multiplier" to 8 to get it to POST.

The integrated DVI slot does not have a '+' style connector so you cannot use an adapter and have dual VGA ports, but you CAN have a DVI and VGA running at the same time without buying a video card.

BRILLIANT MOTHERBOARD 21 Mar 2011
By Plasmacartwheel - Published on Amazon.com

Got it for an HDTV application with an HDMI Intel motherboard. I was slightly sceptical due to some surprisingly downbeat reviews of the current wave of Intel motherboards. However, I have been using Intel motherboards for about ten years and they seembulletproof. I have some that were so caked in dirt and dust I was surprised they still worked. Took a chance and built the HTPC - works brilliantly. No hesitation on anything I have done with it 1080P, which, so far, is everything except playing with Blu-Ray.

Addendum for the motherboard: you know what sets Intel apart? They include a lot of nice extras, like a sticker for your case that labels the headers on the motehrboard. No more referencing hard-to-find manuals. Also, they know how to adhere to a standard without screwing around with incompatible parts that end up frying or not playing well with one another. You want to overclock? Maybe you want another manu. You want bulletproof longevity? Buy this.

Very nice board 2 Mar 2010

This is a sweet board and it does everything I need it to do. I only installed the drivers for the chipset and NIC off of the cd then downloaded all the most current drivers from intel's site including the new chipset and nic driver. I also then flashed the BIOS to the most recent version. The board works great with no problems. I have an intel core i5 661 processor in here with some patroit sector 5 ram in there.
