You might think such a cheap processor cant be good enough, but people don't realise how fast the ivy bridge desktop celerons are these days. Most benchmarks show the G1620 is about 60% as fast as an i3 3220 (an excellent 90 CPU I also have) but only costs a third as much. This CPU beats anything near the same price from AMD as long as you don't do anything more graphically intense than watch a DVD or surf youtube. I am using this in a new PC for grandma, it will blow her socks off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Affordable Power 18 Mar 2014

This processor is a great buy.

It has admirable performance at its price range and as far as CPU performance is concerned, is much more affordable than the low end AMD options available. I have recently built an AMD APU based rig powered by an A4-5300 and can safely say that this Celeron provides a fair bit more processing power and the stock fan is very quiet. The integrated graphics on this processor leave a lot to be desired.

Because this is a low end chip you do get a rather disappointing Intel HD 2500 Series graphics processor which for those that are interested, is only just powerful enough for watching 1080p movies and you should not consider even casual gaming at all. This processor shines when you use a dedicated graphics card. A less powerful processor may hinder the performance of a decent graphics card so you will be rewarded if you sacrifice the lack of a powerful IGPU and use instead a fairly powerful graphics card with it. I tried putting a Sapphire Toxic 280x 3GB with this processor, and the same card in an A4-5300 based rig, and the Intel processor allowed me to achieve much higher minimum frame rates.
