Motherboard USED: MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) Motherbaord (Core i7, Socket LGA2011, Intel X79 ATX RAID, Gigabit, LAN)

Bought this Intel i7-3930K here, with MSI X79A-GD65, and was lucky because there was a 2 month waiting list, however if you need one fast just google.

However, I found Amazon UK to be the cheapest at the time.... The 6 HT' cores are only really good in most Programs & some Apps. However, NO BIG advantage

TO AN 'OVERCLOCKED' 'i7-2600K OR i7-2700K' if I had of known it wasn't going to be much faster than my previous i7-2600K with Vertex 3 SSD, I would not have shelled out. Yes there

is a lot more poke in Games, Battlefield 3, & Most Programs, however Please listen to me, Purchase an i5 2500K; and overclock it to (4.6Ghz) & Z68 Mobo very easy if you know

how to clock... use an H80 Cooler by Corsair, That will keep the temps at bay, but buy a big case for plenty of space so you have room inside to work, especially

if its your 1st build buy a large: Cooler Master HAF X - Full tower - extended ATX ( ATX / PS/2 ) - black - USB/FireWire/Audio/E-SATA

I have shelled out and learned the hard way but if you add a SSD high speed drive, there will only be a small difference against the "Stock i7-3930K".

against the "over-clocked i5". There is no massive difference with the OC'd 2600K or 2700K in Gaming, not at present, until Microsoft unleash "Windows 8" Nov/2012, that will take
full advantage of the multi-threaded 6 core CPU the i7-3930K has, "seriously I love my new 6x core HT processor", it can do things in encoding video work at high speed, for example,
it can handle anything you fire at it with pure simplicity. "Bang its done"... however in saying that like I said before if you want to build a new rig and
have loads of cash

you wanna spend. Then buy this 6 Core CPU, however if your Smart or Clever, Please stick to and Oc'd i5-2500K or either i7-2600K or i7-2700K, at least you get a lot more
headroom, especially with the 2700K, and it Kicks Bananas, hand picked by intel for more head room thats why they are a few quid more than the i7-2600K... "But if your strictly

on a tight budget" and want a really fast Gaming Rig BUY THE MSI Z68 G65 Mobo G3 with Cross-Fire (or) SLI in PCI-E v.3.0 for 'NO bottle NECKs' G3 Z68 Boards are much faster and can get
respectable overclocks that will impress you, Then buy and i5 2500K 'Depending on your money' you want to spend, over-clock it to (4.6Ghz), or (Gen 2) i7 2600K over Clock it to (4.7Ghz)
And Please do NOT forget A decent Powersupply like "Corsair Enthusiast Range TX850w" Which represent excellent value, and Cooler Master case, And H80 Closed Water cooler Ready to
go. The Other things Like GPU's stick to a simple overclocked (ZOTAC GTX 560Ti AMP!) at A 950Mhz CORE Overclock it will push with a TWIST of the OC stick once again to 1000Mhz/1Ghz
with the ZOTAC software supplied in the BOX, its the FASTEST, or ONE of the fastest; before anyone jumps down my throat, that money can buy lads. One Eight Nine is the Price
Here on Amazon..Don't push it over 1000mhz or it will fry. However, at that clock speed its agreed safe by most Geeks/Modders, it has very good cooling so don't worry.!

Corsair CWCH80 Hydro Series H80 High Performance CPU Cooler "Cooler ready, out of the BOX", (Easy to install, if you have tools).

In closing I must admit my CPU is Brilliant And will Kill nearly any other CPU Alive today, by a fair amount, however held back a little by the Limitations on Win 7 OS, until
the NEW OS coming out later this year By Microsoft...4th Qu. Remember Only certain Gaming and Apps will take hold of this architectural advantage. So think carefully before
shelling out Four and a half hundred pounds. it even has more head room for overclocking than its "Eight Hundred and Fifty Pounds sibling"... So believe it or NOT;
"for the Money its a Bargain", so get your Name on Amazon waiting list, if your lucky you need only wait 4 weeks. As the customer service is Stellar, if anything goes wrong,
"say you get a lemon. Amazon will replace quickly". ((which you need when buying)). It's really all about securing your investment closing in on nearly four hundred and sixty pounds.
be Clever!

"PLEASE DONT FORGET": that you are waisting your TIME, if you do not have enough money for a 128GB OR 256GB SSD. Preferably Crucial M4 SSD FASTEST AND BEST VALUE FOR MONEY.
to get the Maximum Usage out of your X79 Mobo with PCI-E V.3 so SLI, / CrossXfire, NO Bottleneck and (GEN 2) i7 Hyperthreaded 4, OR 6 Core CPU overclocked by the multiplier which
is easy for any beginner if you watch a few "YOUTUBE Videos", and have serviced a PC before. ie. removed RAM and Power supply or changed HD and installed Operating System. Its
really just all about putting on the Corsair H80 or H60 whatever you feel better value, its your money, the closed loop water coolers are very easy to fit if you buy a full
tower case. Its not difficult, remember we all had to start somewhere... you just need to read the motherboard manual whenever you have got all your parts, to
build your bragging rights PC. :=D (The H80 or H60) will not overload your shiny new PC WITH UNESSENTIAL Weight from "big tower air copper coolers" with "6 to 8 heat pipes"
carry too much pressure on your new CPU especially Moving it around and setting it down, also, if you go travel LAN Parties. (Play safe). The Water coolers especial the
Corsair range are very easy and quick to fit on perfectly, without having to loose screws in the Mobo fiddling around.
Crucial CT128M4SSD2 128GB M4 SSD -----OR----- Crucial CT256M4SSD2 256GB M4 SSD

Play safe and use ARCTIC MX-2 OR MX-3, with the new CPU NOT ARCTIC SILVER, because it contains a lot of metal and can cause your'e whole PC To "short" 'bang goes the CPU' especially
can happen easily if you accidently get some Silver, on the wrong bits around your new CPU if your a novice. Don't laugh because it can and does often happen even with cocksure builders.

Anyway's the MX-2 & MX-3 & (NEW MX-4) (non conducting paste), are better, because they allow cooler temps, than the Artic Silver compound, not many people know this. They are all made by
ARCTIC PLC.

Please, take care and good luck with your new rig, whatever you decide to do is your business do it from advice, but you much make the final decision!, its you're money to do as you please.

Please, don't forget to 'Vote with your mouse' to keep the Amazon Voting System Alive, much appreciated. Thanks, Ciao!

EDIT: Price of i7-3830K CPU is Coming down; Thanks! Amazon.! Also consider new X79, i7-3820k - at just over "two hundred ££" with a 10Mb cache.
also, you heard the NEW Z77 Chipset Motherboard, has been released the PCI-E 3.0 with 16X SLi 8x8x and 16 lanes, verses the older 8 lanes on the LGA1156.
buy over the Z68 Board, (more UEFI BIOS features) - Plus+ if you want to upgrade you graphics sometime in the future to the new Nvidia (or) ATI range.

Final EDIT: 6th May 2012, Please stick with IVY-Bridge CPU's 10-13% Overall more Performance, than SandyBridge CPU's, will use less Watts, albeit run a little hotter, nothing a decent cooler and MSI/ Asus Z77 Motherboard can't deal with. Save the Extra money, buy an Ivy-Bridge i5(K) or i7(K) CPU and with the savings buy a GTX670/HD7950 GPU instead of going i7-3930K (However, its your money you decide). "Wish you all the best, whatever you decide to do!" TAKE CARE...

This chip is blisteringly fast, and very easy to overclock due to the unlocked multiplier.

I was building a new rig for my dad and money was not an object so I went for this over the 2700K and I'm glad I did. Combined with a gigabyte GA-X79-UD7 motherboard and 16GB corsair DDR3 1866 dominator memory it produces amazing results.

I was easily able to get it 24/7 stable @4.5GHZ @ only 1.28V with the ram @ 1866MHZ, I'm sure if you're willing to go above the 1.35v Intel speck limit you can easy reach 5 GHZ. Temps were very low using the corsair H100 cooler.

I have an I7 920 0verclcoked to 3.6 GHZ..3.8 with turbo boost on and it finishes Cinibench R10 in 41 seconds the 3930K rips through it in 21 seconds .. double crunching power ..

Defiantly get a good SSD though if you want to be able to really benefit from its speed.

Quite a costly chip..Amazon was the cheapest.. but if you can afford it, its defiantly the chip to buy IMO.
