Book Description

*Insufferable Proximity was edited and re-published on August 1, 2012*

Someone is hell-bent on sabotaging Julian King.

Julian is a hot-shot lawyer and a natural born womanizer with an unnatural addiction to the opposite sex.

With a line of scorned women, a brother who loathes him and many
competitors he defeated on his way to the top, there were plenty of
people that would love to see him burn.

But his money was on the person he despised most: Heaven Deville, an
aggressive, ambitious, destructively-driven lawyer who hates Julian.

The two stubborn lawyers are locked in a brutal battle for the coveted
partnership position at the firm, and Heaven would do ANYTHING to
prevent her arch rival from winning.

When Heaven goes too far in her attempts to secure the partnership
and gets caught in a situation that could cost her everything, including
her job, professional reputation and her dignity, Julian gives her two
options: either he turns her in or she has to willingly sign herself
over to him for the next 30 days.

Backed into a corner, Heaven realizes there is only one possible
choice... But is she strong enough to submit to a man she despises so

Author's note -POSSIBLE SPOILER-
Julian never cheats on Heaven and there is a HEA .

4.0 out of 5 stars UNDER CONTRACT TO HER ENEMY 12 Aug. 2012
    By Reader TOP 50 REVIEWER
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Heaven Deville and Julian King both lawyers work at the same law firm. Julian's Father being the boss. Heaven and Julian are mortal enemies. In the three years since Heaven joined the firm, they have competed for every important case. But things get even worse when a partnership becomes available. Worrying that Julian might best her, Heaven breaks into his office and destroys everything on his computer with a virus. But Julian has the last laugh as there are security cameras which have captured Heaven's actions. Julian has the power within his grasp to destroy Heaven's career. But instead he demands that she sign a contract that will put her totally under his control for thirty days. Heaven cannot believe that she has put herself in this position, through her own stupid actions, she must either submit to Julian's demands for thirty days or have her career ended, maybe even face criminal charges.
First read for me by this author, and I must say that I enjoyed it. This is an extremely long story so you certainly get value for money. I thought the premise of the story was a good idea. The characters on the whole were OTT and quite outrageous. Julian is a sex addict, with a trail of brokenhearted women in his wake. He very rarely sleeps with the same woman twice. Julian cannot wait to find out what Heaven is hiding under the outsize clothes she wears. Heaven although beautiful hides her body under ugly clothes two sizes too big for her, preferring to concentrate on her career, without the distraction of male attention. She is rough and tough and her surname Deville suits her. For she can be a real devil. Julian's antics made me laugh out loud more than once.

5.0 out of 5 stars OH MY GOD!!! 26 Jan. 2013

Ok so like everybody else I'm totally addicted to this genre of books due to devouring the fifty shades trilogy.
Well this book insufferable proximity was absolutely delicious.
I couldn't tear my eyes away from it and I stayed up until 4 in morning to finish it. It was soo addictive.(it definitely gives fifty shades a run for its money).
Anyway the books about 2 hotshot lawyers who work for same firm Julian the man is a sex addict and humps every woman that walks and heaven who's a virgin and hides her beautiful body from the outside world. They actually despise one another and argue over cases.
Deciding to scupper Julian chances of becoming parter in the business heaven does something incredibly stupid and gets busted by Julian,he offers her a chance to either hand her body over to him and become a submissive for 30 days or he tells the boss(his father).
Heaven having no choice she signs the contract.
Obviously he falls in love with her and she him but nothing can go that smoothly.
Is someone out to destroy the couple?
I was a little of arrgghhhhh with the ending though and would love it if another book was been written. I need to read more from Julian and heaven.
I loved this book it's suspenseful gripping and very sexy with hot sex scenes in it(what's there not 2 love) haha.
I would definitely recommend this book to fsog lovers I promise you you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read 15 Mar. 2014

I really loved this. Reading virtually non stop to finish both books within a day.
It starts a little weirdly, I found the beginning a little boring but I can see why background was needed for Heaven's character. I liked how calculated & ruthless Heaven is despite her naivety and I really disliked Julian with a passion until nearly the end on book 1, as i imagined is intentioned.
I had an inkling who helped the saboteur, but the main villain had me gasping in surprise. It is a book I'd read again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Highs And Lows 18 Dec. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading the synopsis I couldn't wait to get started. However, I was disappointed and a little bored with the constant cliches and bad phrasing at the start of the book and was seriously considering not finishing it. Then all of a sudden the writing style changed and the story came alive. (Had someone had a go at rewriting it?). I loved it to the point that I overlooked all the typos and bad verb tenses. I thought Heaven's and Julian's characters were very well described and it was a pleasant change to have a female who was strong, successful and independent. It had sizzling sex but I also loved the intrigue.

Towards the end of the story, I felt that the author knew what she wanted to say but it wasn't described very well. There were several situations that were put in that didn't really add anything to the story or go anywhere. There was a lot of repetition and there were other things that I felt were left out. It was as though several ideas had been chucked in a box, given a stir with a big stick and then taken out and published without being sorted. It's a shame because I loved the storyline and felt that it had the makings of a five star story.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Good 11 April 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Slow start and at first was not a fan or the story or the style of writing but kept going and glad I did.

There is supposed to be an epilogue at the end which is no long there as I understand it was withdrawn by the author so she could turn what was supposed to be one book into a series, pretty naughty! so it's kind of taken the shine off for me.
