3.0 out of 5 stars Dancing in the late 1970s 26 Oct 2004
By Pieter Uys HALL OF FAME TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Instant Replay was a huge disco and chart hit in 1978. The album is one of the famous Tom Moulton mixes. With its catchy hook, bubbly optimism and full instrumental mix, the title track set the dance floors ablaze. Unfortunately the rest of the album doesn't quite live up to the promise of the hit. The long medley Countdown/This Is It was another dancefloor hit. It has some brilliant sax solos by Edgar Winter and some tuneful moments, especially in the second, This Is It part. Double-O-Love and Chocolate Box have a rock influence, while Love Is A Natural is an undistinguished disco ballad. The album concludes with Time And Space, a beautiful old style pop ballad with rousing vocals and a memorable tune. The album is pleasant enough overall but contains nothing outstanding besides the title track. Dan Hartman will always be remembered for Instant Replay, one of the most popular hits of 1978 in the golden age of disco.

3.0 out of 5 stars Instant Replay 14 Jan 2008
By Richard D. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com

This was a favorite of mine for many years. Dan Hartman was such a talented musician and unfortunately had his life and career cut much too short. I can only imagine what he could have done had he been given more time. The negative is that if this CD was remastered digitally the sound just is not up to par compared to CD's remastered and recorded today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rewarding! 12 Jun 2004
By Andre' S Grindle - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The title cut of this LP is hard edged, funky disco at it's
prime and has aged very well over the years. But two aggresive,
grooving funk-rock pieces "Chocolate Box" with it's strong
Wild Cherry-like arrangement and the tight "Double O' Love"
are NOT to be missed."Love Is Such A Natural Feeling" has the same overall effect as the title song and overall this record
throws back to the golden grooves of the late 1970's!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Great Songs 21 Mar 2013
By J. Martin - Published on Amazon.com

The first 5 songs are awesome bubbly hi energy disco songs with an R and B flavor to them.
Love Dan's voice and timing in his writing.
Double O-Love is maybe my favorite b/c i'm already familiar with Instant and This is It.
Love is a Natural has a GREAT Keyboard piece over the music that is instantly ear tickler stuff.
Chocolate Box is a great soul/funker in the style of Brick House.
the last song on the album, im sorry is a slow stinker of a ballad that goes nowhere. The great news is the cd is over and you can simply hit Eject and feel the sugary energy of the first 5 songs and relive them again soon!
