Format:Paperback
This text combines all the pathological knowledge one is likely to need up to final MB level and perhaps beyond. It's useful to integrate your pathological knowledge into your clinical experience- sitting in MDT sessions early on a Monday morning and forgetting various bits of histology is not a pleasant experience!
The diagrams are useful if a little inconsistent, and the text while good, lacks a clear layout (something which Instant Anatomy did brilliantly!). There's no doubt that this is a useful text, but for me it fell a little too much between preclinical and clinical science in what is a fairly competitive market.
For PBL students though I can see this being a very useful reference, as it is for the first few slides of your grand round presentation whilst a clinical student!

Instant Pathology 23 Jun 2007
Format:Paperback
Instant Pathology is an excellent text book. It might look small but it is packed full of all the information you need to know about Pathology.

Each topic is covered on a 2 page spread and is clearly outlined and defined. Each topic is split into sections including definition, epidemiology/aetiology, classification/staging, microscopic and macroscopic features, genetics and specialist stains/tests. If you are looking for a book that covers pathology in an easy to understand way, then this is the book for you.

I would highly recommend this book to medical students and junior doctors alike. A real gem.

Instant Pathology is a concise, clear and well-structured introduction to the most important topics in pathology. Core knowledge is presented through the use of concise text, simple illustrations and tables, all designed to aid understanding and retention of knowledge.

This was not available when I studied pathology but I think that it would have been extremely useful!
