Product Description

Product Description
With insolvencies and business rescues increasing rapidly, even non-specialist practitioners are increasingly finding their work affected by corporate or personal insolvency. Insolvency Law: Corporate and Personal is written in a detailed yet straightforward way, making it accessible to both practitioners and students. This comprehensive book explains legislation and discusses cases on all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency, covering each of the procedures available. The text is presented logically under headings, with pointers to more specialised information and additional cases. This second edition includes coverage of cross border insolvencies, and every section from Administration to Winding up has been fully revised in light of legislative and case law changes. Insolvency Law: Corporate and Personal is a popular first port of call for non-specialists and those new to the area of insolvency, whether in practice or whilst studying.

From the Back Cover
Insolvency Law: Corporate and Personal

Andrew Keay and Peter Walton

This new textbook, written by experienced insolvency law academics, provides a clear, readable and comprehensive exposition of the principles of insolvency law in England and Wales so far as it relates to both corporate and personal debtors.

It covers the subject in appropriate depth and breadth to make it suitable
for single-module teaching of the subject, and is fully up-to-date with the latest legislative developments, including a treatment of the changes brought about by the recently enacted Enterprise Act 2002.  Discussion, where appropriate, integrates both corporate and personal insolvency law.  Important and critical cases are separated from the text and discussed in detail and suggestions for further reading are provided for all subjects covered by the book.

Insolvency Law is designed primarily as a text for law and commerce
students, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level; as a reference tool
for lawyers and insolvency practitioners; and as an introduction to the area
for those practitioners who wish to familiarise themselves with the
essential principles and issues in insolvency law.

Andrew Keay is Professor of Corporate and Commercial Law at the University
of Leeds. Peter Walton is Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of
Wolverhampton.

5.0 out of 5 stars Law books, 30 Jan 2009
This is the latest edition of a standard student text on insolvency which is suitable for those in practice as well. It deals with both personal and corporate insolvency, as the title says, though obviously there is a lot more on the corporate aspect. It deals with the law of England and Wales.

This is a great book. It is easy to read and allows the reader to quickly grasp the fundamentals of an increasingly important subject.
