This book gave a lot of backround to the culture and history of iceland, which was nice but I didn't actually read it all. What was good was that it was very up to date, as the newly open port for the ferry to vestmannaeyarna from landeyarhöfn was not included in another guidebook.
The maps were useful, but the different scales were confusing at times. And although the content was structured around the geographical areas and gave lots of information in an accessible way, this was sometimes not easy to access. It is a guidebook that is more like travel writing than giving you short accessible information that you might need.

so many guidebooks lack pictures, but this one actually has a lot of beautiful pictures to look at! it also clearly outlines things to see while in certain areas of iceland. this is the best guidebook of iceland that i have.

Great visuals and story telling. Selections of hotels and such was lacking so if you only buy one book and are not traveling with a tour, this may not be it but it was very helpful and I would certianly buy this brand again.

Very quick shipping, excellent guidebook. Love all the full color photographs! Also love the fact that this explains things in order as if you were driving/making your way through the area on a route. Wish it were bigger with even more descriptions of how to find things and more detail. It should be twice the thickness and cover more! It's a great overview though, and I'm excited to use it on our trip.
