Bought this book for a friend of mine who is coming to Liverpool to study, and I was pleasantly surprised. Liverpool has changed dramatically in the last decade and this book shows just how much the city has to offer, with a comprehensive guide to the museums and galleries, nightlife, architecture, restaurants, theatres, shopping and sport. There are plenty of suggestions for things to see and do, whether you want family-friendly ideas like the Yellow Duck Bus, or you want to know the best bars and clubs to visit at night. From The Beatles to Liverpool's gay quarter (2010 sees the city's first Pride!) there is something for everybody here, whether you are a culture vulture or a party animal. Good easy to read listings and some interesting commentary as well as some great photographs and tips for taking your own. A lot of information packed into a handy-sized book.

We recently visited Liverpool to celebrate my 60th birthday and purchased this guide before we went. It was excellent. I showed it to a colleague who regularly visits Liverpool and there were restaurants and places to visit she had never heard of!!
There are ideas for a three day visit most of which we followed.
There are no maps inside and so you will need a Street Map. we purchased the AA Street by Street Pocket Map - also from Amazon - of course!!This only covers the City whereas ideas in the guide are further afield and so you may need an additional map covering the surrounding area.
