"A little gem, will spark many 'aha' moments"

"Fabulously inspiring"

"I loved this book...fantastic read"

"Great for anyone in business who has that moment of self doubt"

Ever wondered why entrepreneurial business owners want to risk it all when they could very easily settle for a ‘proper job’? What makes them dust themselves down and carry on when everyone around them is saying ‘it won’t work’? In this series of 21 inspirational interviews Gary Gorman spills the beans on what makes the real life business owner tick….and how you can do the same!

Gary has quizzed 21 real life entrepreneurs about the challenges they have faced getting their businesses up and running. But these aren’t the untouchable mega-rich business personalities found on our TV screens, they are down to earth people facing the same challenges and day-to-day issues that test modern day business owners week in and week out. You’ll read about such people as Brad Burton, Andy Lopata, Simon Jordan, Jenny Flintoft, Geoff Ramm, Sharon Wright, Steve Clarke….and many more.

They’ll tell you what got them through in times of difficulty and how you can avoid making the same mistakes. They’ll tell you about the inner strength you’ll need in order to follow your dream and build a sustainable and fulfilling business. Some stories are genuinely soul searching. You’ll read about Ebay sellers, ‘Deal or No Deal’ contestants, early school leavers, corporate ‘suits’, a bankrupt and a Dragon’s Den contestant. You’ll be moved, inspired, motivated and want to get out there, prove people wrong and make it happen for yourself!

Gary Gorman is a leading UK sales mentor, author, trainer and business speaker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic and Encouraging 20 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Gary has brought together a group of very `real' entrepreneurs for these inspiring interviews. While it's always interesting to read about glossy celebrity style tycoons, those stories are much harder to relate to for the everyday business owner.

In `Inside the Entrepreneur's Mind' we find an eclectic mix of characters, from a variety of different businesses and backgrounds, some of who appear surprised to find that they've arrived at the destination called `success'. It would appear that there is no clear single path to becoming an entrepreneur, nor a genetic predisposition. This gives hope to us all. Any excuses for not trying are roundly dealt with when you read some of the challenges that have been overcome.

Each interview contains a treasure chest of very do-able tips and advice. All in all, it's a very encouraging and motivating read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read...True to form...Warts and all 19 July 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I downloaded the boot onto my Kindle and saved it to devour on a very long train journey. Perhaps not the best circumstances to read it because I found myself interacting unable to hide the smiles when I realised that I am not the only person on earth who has had a fine for a late VAT return, (those brown enveloped really focus the mind). The flexibility, ability to respond to changing markets and the creativity resonated with me and I really admire the resilience of some, I found myself wanting to shout well done, but managed to contain that. Perhaps now is my opportunity to say to those who contributed some who are in my network and some who I am yet to meet, thanks for your honesty it's what makes this book a great read.

I must start by saying I do have a vested interest, as I'm one of the "minds" contained within the book!

However, the reason I've given this a 5 star rating is because there is no hype in this book. There's no - "anyone can do this", or "You can be anything you want to be if you really believe". Nice sentiments, but do those sorts of things work in real life?

Gary has chosen 21 very different people, with one thing in common. They're happy to share the down's as well as the up's of running your own business and about what it truly means to be an entrepreneur.

It's punchy, practical and there are some great messages and insights which anybody can grab and apply in their own lives. If you're toying with going it alone - or if you're already there and have lost some of your spark - give this book a read. I have no doubt it'll give you just the boost you need to kickstart your own journey towards success!

I have read books on some of the big names in business and struggled to see what it is that I could emulate; these untouchables have been put on pedestals so high that they are away in the distance and I just can't see it. But in this book Gary has done just the right thing for us small business owners; his interview series with 21 entrepreneurs (business owners, solopreneurs, bosses...insert your favourite term here) is completely accessible because they are people just like you and me. They can articulate what it is that they do that WE CAN DO TOO!

Gary has drawn from these people their experiences and triumphs and the times when they've had to pick themselves up again, and I've read the interviews and thought, "yes, done that, been there."

If you are a small business owner in the UK and you use Twitter, there's a fair chance that, like me, you know some of these people and know their stories to be genuine and uplifting. If not, do as Gary suggests and seek them out. Seek him out too. This book demonstrates just how well he knows his stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kick Off The Institutional Chains and Go For It! 6 July 2012
By Pedro
Format:Kindle Edition
Inside the Entrepreneurs Mind is unique in that Gary Gorman has asked a series of structured questions to 21 entrepreneurs and although there are plenty of individual opinions among the detailed answers, there are clearly some very important common denominators that can be applied by anyone considering self-employment. The interviews provide honest and sometimes soul-searching answers.

Whether you are a first-time entrepreneur, a new start-up or someone who is `just' currently running their own business and wants to take it to the next level, Inside the Entrepreneurs Mind is a welcome addition to the literature of talented people who don't wish to be restrained by the institutional straight jacket of being a full-time employee.

"Once I picked up "Inside The Entrepreneur's Mind" I found it hard to put down! Gary immediately sets you at ease on a subject that often brings to mind jet set be-suited billionaires and just out of school whiz kids!

Whilst reading I found myself able to associate with the interviewees and seeing some of my own struggles and setbacks reflected here. I've gained some really useful advice from people who have stood where I am today and who have taken the time to share their knowledge and mistakes.

This is a great book for anyone in business who has that moment of self-doubt or who simply needs a push in the right direction."
