5.0 out of 5 stars Very splended. 13 Jun 1999

Format:Hardcover
When I got the book from the school library, I thought the book was very fantastic, even though I could tell some pictures had some added detail then all my other books did. But I liked it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A visual TITANIC buff's dream 16 Oct 1998
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
In my opinion, Ken Marschall is one of the most talented steamship artists ever. His work on this book is in unbelievable detail. This is a MUST to any TITANIC lover's collection (adults, that means you too!)

Format:Hardcover
The paintings are wonderful, but too limited. I would like to see more of the ship than one side of it. The book should have showed detailed deck plans (perhaps along the lines as those available thru New Steamship Consultants), and more paintings of the ship's interior spaces that are usually never seen, particularly the engine spaces. Also, detailed drawings of how the steam system worked to propel the boat would have also been very valuable. I think the book lacks a lot of substance. Moreover, the publishers made no effort to counteract the effect of full page spreads passing through the binding; thus, portions of the paintings are completely lost to view. Additionally, the book should have showed the much discussed watertight bulkheads, and how the boat filled with water in such a way so as to counteract their effectiveness, and to ultimately defeat their purpose. I hope the author revises the book along these lines. In that case, I would buy it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, but not enough detail in sinking 29 Jun 1998
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
The book "Inside the Titanic" was very interesting in the sense of telling a story. But the sinking wasn't too detailed. They could've shown more about the filling of water, the splitting, and the lifeboats being fought over. I think it deserved four stars!
