Product Description

Following up on the adventures of men in uniform in "Frasier Island" and "Finding Marie, "Susan Page Davis offers readers another suspenseful novel of international diplomacy and romance.

Claudia Gillette, an upscale magazine correspondent, will go to any lengths for a good story. Bill White, a navy lieutenant, performs secret missions all over the world. Attraction sizzles between them, but these two can't synchronize their globe-trotting watches long enough for a date. Claudia also has more than romance in mind...she wants the inside story on Bill's exotic assignments.

When she goes over his head and obtains permission to join his outfit on a sensitive mission in the Philippines, Bill is both angry and afraid for her. Will her presence endanger his team? When things go badly, only faith in God can give them hope for tomorrow...but even if they both make it, what's the inside scoop on Bill and Claudia having a future together?

This is the final book in the trilogy that started with Frasier Island and Finding Marie, and tells the story of Claudia Gillette, sister of Marie and Lisa from the second book.

Claudia is an award-winning journalist who spends her life jet-setting around the globe chasing stories. On a visit to Marie, Pierre and their new baby, she meets Bill White, who is one of the Navy special operations team that Pierre trains. Bill is interested in Claudia, but is diappointed to find she is not a Christian. Claudia is interested in Bill, but is more interested in his mention of a colleague, Heidi, one of the few women in an active special-ops team. Claudia wants an interview, and a chance encounter with George Hudson gives Claudia the opportunity she seeks, although not in quite the way she planned.

The book was a fast-paced enjoyable read. It was also great to catch up with many of the characters from the earlier books, such as George and Rachel Hudson, Bill White, Heidi Taber, Lisa Gillette and Andre Belanger. The only problem was the final words "the end", which signal that this was only ever a trilogy.

Wonderful Story 6 Feb 2009
By Sally - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
As I read the final page and closed the cover, I shut my eyes and sighed. What a wonderful story. Although this is the third in the series, it's a novel that can be read and understood without having first read the other two. However, if you are fortunate enough to have read Frazier Island and Finding Marie, this volume will bring even more satisfaction.

The protagonist, Claudia Gillette, is an intelligent, strong-minded woman. She enjoys her life and her career--a globe-trotting journalist--even though it includes irritants like a nagging boss and a photographer who likes to live in the fast lane. She meets a special operations Naval officer and the sparks fly. But can love bloom with the wacky schedules these two jobs entail? It's a big world, but can they arrange to meet?

There's a touch of realism that is not often found in novels. No wonder. The author is a former news correspondent!

Bill White, the Naval officer is sent to the Philippines on a secret mission involving hostages, terrorists, and two governments. The non-stop action would make a terrific action film. Guys will also enjoy this one.

I highly recommend this book. If you like suspense, you will not be disappointed.

You've got to get the INSIDE STORY... 26 Jan 2009
By Love 2 Read Novels - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This story is a wonderful addition to the Frasier Island series. You could read it as a stand alone and not be lost but it is so much more fulfilling to have read the previous 2 books.

Claudia is the sister of Marie (book 2 Finding Marie)and one who likes to be on the go. Her job as a prize-winning journalist takes her to where ever the story is.

Bill White is being trained under Pierre Belanger (Marie's husband). They are training to extract a scientist & his family who have been taken hostage.

Claudia is visiting Pierre and Marie and meets Bill White. As they talk casually he mentions that there is a woman on his team. Claudia longs to interview Heidi but Bill is against it fearing that it might reveal things that would hinder their rescue.

She ends up in the middle of the rescue operation. From that point on you cannot put down the book. The non-stop action keeps you glued to the pages. Things happen that you don't expect. It caught me by surprise which I love.

The thing that I really enjoyed about this book was that you had a chance to revisit the folks you have come to know in the first 2 books.

I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.
