Product Description

Synopsis

Henriette Lannes came to England after the Second World War and organised the Work of G. I. Gurdieff under the auspices of the Gurdieff Society. She succeeded in bringing together the separate groups who had been working with P. D. Ouspensky, J. G. Bennett, Maurice Nicoll and Jane Heap. Inside a Question shows Henriette Lannes' approaches: the inner exercises she conveyed, the many questions she raised, the unswerving dedication she displayed and the constant reminders she presented.

5.0 out of 5 stars An important new book in the Gurdjieff literature, 28 Oct 2002
This review is from: Inside a Question: Works of Henriette Lannes, Pupil of G.I.Gurdjieff (Paperback)
Henriette Lannes was a close student of G I Gurdjieff who played a key role in the transmission of his teaching in England for the thirty years following his death.
The book contains material of many different kinds. For example there are papers written by her to assist a deeper engagement in some of the principle ideas of Gurdjieff's teaching. Also discussions about work at practical activities, art and craft, letters concerning the needs of children, making use of situations in business, and the relation of modern science to traditional knowledge. Perhaps the richest material is contained in her responses to questions.
There a is great directness to the book. Throughout all the variety of subjects a strong drive of underlying purpose can be felt. Here is the fresh and vivid voice of a true teaching.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Every word is gold.", 13 Jun 2011

"Every word is gold." This is what my friend whom first lent this book to me said about it. I agree.
If you are interested in practicing the ideas of G.I. Gurdjieff, then here is a book with real insight, that can serve as a real help. The depth and sincerity of H. Lannes words is self-evident.

"Every word is gold."
