Product Description

Product Description

Life in the secluded town of Ridgewood is charming, simple, safe - isn't it? The bubble that isolates the hamlet protects, or so the eclectic residents believe. Lurking in the background of every day life is a curse that comes in cycles and picks off the innocent as it pleases. But this time there's something different, this time the curse wants more.

Roberta Arlington's life changes the moment she finds one of her pupils, pale, frozen, DEAD. Her mind is filled with uncharacteristic thoughts, dreams and visions create bizarre scenes, and her blood boils as she lashes out at those she loves. Amidst her turmoil there are friends, and enemies, who come to her aid, piecing together the puzzle laid before them.

But with the ancient evil having struck down so many through the centuries, Roberta will have to muster every ounce of strength she has to survive. An entire world, a strange land, has unveiled itself. If Roberta knows one thing for sure, it's that she alone won't be able to escape as death comes calling.......

Inside Evil is a paranormal mystery set in a small town on the borders of England and Scotland. Like so many similar places, its residents cannot help but be drawn into each others lives, as they rarely venture from their seclusion. But, with such isolation comes danger, and whilst the world is blissfully unaware, an ancient terror is preparing for murder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first novel 3 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a great first novel, very descriptive and well thought out, that you almost feel you are there in that little bookshop, sinking into a sofa with a coffee warming your hands and the fire warming your feet. It links five main characters, and we get to see the story from their perspective, before it brings them all together in the end.
It is book one of a series, so the story continues.
If you like thrilling suspense with a paranormal twist, then this book is for you

5.0 out of 5 stars Page Turner 23 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A real page turner...It`s in the sci-fi section but do not be fooled, this is a mystery/horror affair from beginning to end. Some of the scarier parts sent a chill down my spine. Brillantly descriptive an excllent frist novel. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I never normally write book reviews but after being drawn into this fantastic book I felt I had to comment. From the very beginning the book is very descriptive and paints a very vivid picture of Ridgewood and its inhabitants. The characters are very likable and easy to relate to. I found myself unable to put this book down and was eager to learn what was going to happen. The fantasy and slightly supernatural happenings throughout the book also add even more intrigue. A brilliant book! I can't wait for the next one in the series to be released.

2.0 out of 5 stars A free book..... 9 July 2013

Purely read this as it was free! Good in parts but overall quite confusing and a very disappointing ending if I'm honest!

2.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Get Into This Book 12 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The genre that this book slots into appeals to me but this one's not for me. I couldn't get past the second chapter as quite frankly, I found it to be boring, fraught with clichés - particularly when setting the scene in the Scottish Borders where the town is set and the author's lengthy descriptions of the scene, where in my mind, no real sense of anticipation or atmosphere was created. Not one I'll be keeping on my Kindle.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected 20 Feb 2014
By Minimoo
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had thought this novel would have been more "horror/supernatural" and it did kind of start out that way however it progressed into more of a fantasy tale, with magic mirrors, purple spiders and all knowing little ladies however despite not being what I expected, I must say I really enjoyed the story.

It really picked up pace in the last quarter of the book and as soon as I finished it I downloaded the next installment which I have to say, I enjoyed even more than this :-)

Whilst this is still free, I'd definitely download it and give it a go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthralling!!!! 2 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutely loved this book! Loved it so much I had to switch to text to speech and walked around with it whilst doing my work. I shall definitely be searching for other books by this talented author. I gave it 5 stars as that was the maximum I could give would have been more otherwise. To think that I only came upon it while searching for a different book and it was showing as what others purchased as well as the book I was glad I discovered it. It's right up my street as I am addicted to the paranormal but this book had the added bonus of being a mystery story as well. Would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a storyline that keeps you interested all the way through. Bravo Mr. Wakeling

5.0 out of 5 stars A strange and enjoyable read
This is a bit of a strange story, but a really good one; an enjoyable read. It has a bit of a slow start, but when it picks up will capture your interest and keep it until the end.

The plot was interesting but felt it wasn't explained very well. A lot of unanswered details. It was ok for a free book.
