Excellent service, immaculate product, The book was way too heavy to carry it all the way from Uganda, so be able to order it from Amazone, was a real bonus

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 1 Nov 2008
By Collector "Collector" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: African Interiors (25th Anniversary Special Edtn) (Hardcover)
This extra thick book is perhaps the best "Interiors" book by Taschen because it includes many traditional and indigenous interiors -- not just hotels and luxury ex-pat digs. The photographs are fine, but the color is a bit on the flat and dull side. Is this cost savings the last minute? The pre-pub sample I saw in the Taschen bookstore seemed brighter and clearer in color. Maybe they changed the paper? Anyway, this is a book that begins to give the reader some idea of the greatness of indigenous buildings and dwellings (and their interiors) throughout Africa. I should know, because I've traveled there a lot. Excellent book. Nothing quite like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars the most beautiful book in the world, 2 Jun 2004

Really. The listing here doesn't do this 2 volume set justice. If you have any interest at all, don't hesitate, this is the most beautiful thing ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Great!!!, 24 Aug 2010
By C. Boykin - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Inside Africa (Hardcover)
I own all three of these coffee table books by this arthor. They are simply stunning, colorful, beautiful photography, I can spend hours going through them, each time is like looking through them for the first time. The first two are covered in beautiful African fabric, the third, "African Interiors "(25th Anniversary Special Edition) has a paper jacket , I purchased it here at Amazon, Nov.2008.
