5.0 out of 5 stars Great easy reference book - ideal 16 Jun 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have just loads of insects guides. Some guides are specific e.g. butterflies or bees and some general guides but none are as good as this one. This guide is great;really really clear with big diagrams and also with illustrations of insects at their actual size. I really like the clear distribution maps and comforting details like e..g. White butterflies (8 species) so you can easily narrow it down. Its also simply written with nothing too complicated and close up specific feature e.g. patterns on Damselfly bodies. It covers 100% of all the butterflies, bees, ladybirds, shield bugs and grasshoppers found in Ireland. At 128 species I am more that happy that it will cover 95% of everything I will ever look for. I highly recommend it.
