Product Description

Product Description

It is the most successful business of our times. With the iPod, the iPhone, and then the iPad, Steve Jobs and Apple turned the music, mobile and computing and publishing industries upside down. The coolest, most innovative business in the world became the biggest company in the world.

But at the end of 2011 Steve Jobs died.

The question that no one dared asked was a simple one? Could the company survive without the driven, intense industrial genius who created it?

In this brilliant, forensically argued essay, business writer and technology entrepreneur Paul Tuner argues that it cannot.

Some companies create a new system for making things – and they can endure for decades after the founder has died. But others rest on the brilliance and creativity of a single individual – and they can’t survive their passing.

Apple depended completely on Jobs.

It will go from insanely great to insanely doomed.

Paul Turner is a business writer and technology entrepreneur.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sanely Insightful 23 Mar 2012
By Gareth
A unique insight into the legend of Steve Jobs and the technology giant Apple. Although controversial, Turner offers an interesting perspective on the future of Apple based on his knowledge of the business world. Turner writes with verve and wit.
Enlightening points are made with regard to the workings of the Apple Corporation and its profit margins. The position of the essay is simple, logical and well argued. A recommended read for fans of Apple and Jobs alike, as well as those more generally interested in the business world.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Jobs and Apple Fans... 16 April 2012
By FernDW
Insanely Doomed discusses the question that jumped to the forefront of many people's mind the moment they heard about Steve Job's passing - could Apple survive the passing of its brilliant founder? Insanely Doomed goes on to discuss how companies either have enduring strength or they are brilliant yet fleeting. Turner argues that Jobs was driven, a difficult perfectionist, secretive and good at piecing together bits of information in unusual ways and he believes this was the key to Apple's success. A really interesting read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but definitely not worth the money 10 Oct 2012

An interesting read but not worth £5 - it took me 30 minutes to read and whilst interesting in its views it really is not worth the £5, save your money.
