Product Description

Only the fire-magic can hold back the encroaching darkness, but those who wield it, the fanatical priests of the Domain, would rule the entire world with an iron hand. It seems the peoples of Aquasilva must choose whether to die on their feet or live on their knees...Cathan of Lepidor returns home after the battle that has restored his province to freedom and the rule of its count - Cathan's father. But events soon conspire against him, and Cathan must set out once more, to discover the secret behind the storm-magic he used so successfully to save his clan. Unfortunately for Cathan, forces beyond his control begin to shape his future, threatening to overwhelm him. Unless he can regain control of his destiny, Cathan will find himself in the perilous position of leading the rebellious forces against the Inquisition of the Domain...

4.0 out of 5 stars We humbly await crusade, dribbling gently..., 15 May 2003

This review is from: Inquisition: Book Two of the Aquasilva Trilogy (Paperback)
This brings the Aquasilva we travelled in heresy more firmly into focus as a wholly new and diversely interesting place to be. The apogee of this book is Sarhaddon's oratorial exerpt, which I am reaching once again as I reread Inquisition before beginning Crusade. Anselm has brought the characters and their plight into being once again only this time we begin to truly identify and sympathise with their situation.

Brilliant

4.0 out of 5 stars Nicely done!, 1 Mar 2004
By Inky Cloud "whiteshadow6" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Inquisition: Book Two of the Aquasilver Trilogy (The Aquasilva Trilogy, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the second book in the Aquasilva trilogy, following "Heresy", which ended with the rescue of Cathan, the Escount of Lepidor, and his companions just before they were about to be burned at the stake by the Domain, the dominant religion of most of the world. Cathan, Ravenna and Palatine are now considered heretics by the Domain, and if they are captured will be condemned to death or worse. The three enter into a seemingly hopeless battle against the relentless advance of the Domain and the impending threat of a Crusade that will cause destruction and death on a grand scale.
The Aquasilva trilogy is complex, fast paced and intelligently written. The author continues to refine and improve his writing throughout this book and its sequel. This series is enjoyable as well as thought provoking and I would highly recommend it.
