  • Meta-Flex - this boot incorporates a meta-flex groove which is anatomically aligned in front of the metatarsal heads to provide a natural fore foot flex and protection whilst running.
  • Met Cradle - The upper webbing support in this boot is anatomically positioned to cradle the fore foot behind the metatarsal heads and provide a secure foot hold whilst running.
  • Fascia Band - This band is a replication of the plantar fascia ligament to increase propulsion efficiency and reduce fatigue in the foot.
  • Three arrow midsole - which gives mid level cushioning to the wearer.
  • Sticky Rubber Compound - this shoe uses Inov8's exclusive sticky rubber compund which has been specially developed using climbing rubber technology. This rubber optimizes grip in wet conditions, however the trade off is it wears down quicker.

Roclite 288 30 Dec 2010
Superb multi activity shoe. Ultra light weight is amazing and feels like a second skin. Worn extensively in temps from +10c to -16c on wet, dry, frozen and deep snow covered terrain for running and walking. Very thin construction material for uppers but worn with good socks no problems experienced in extreme freezing conditions. Purchased a spare pair for when these start to wear - superb.

Sizing: I'm generally size 9 boot wearing heavyweight winter socks, but size 8 in Inov-8 Roclite 288 GTX.

½ the weight of my Merrell Cham3 Mid GTX, its like walking on air in comparison. Only my summer sandals weigh less than Roclite!

For my winter MTB, & lightweight backpack hiking, they`re ideal.
But, unlike me, I suspect most hiking purists/heavier backpack carriers may find sole flex, & gossamer material too alien to want to adjust to?

Despite the lightweight flexible sole (which I love), the tread lug depth/pattern is good, with a slightly sticky rubber compound. I don't know how durable yet?

The gossamer construction (which I love), isn't a potential winter insulating problem to me, as it's Gore-Tex lined, & I wear decent heavyweight socks anyway.
Vermicelli laces employed to save maximum weight loss, only time will tell how robust they are?
