Product Description

Natasha Kirby had long been saddened by her family's feud with the Mandrakis men...now she's caught in its savage cross fire. The family business has fallen into the hands of merciless tycoon Alex Mandrakis. Summoned to his bedroom, Natasha is given an impossible ultimatum: "sacrifice her virginity, or he will destroy her family!"

Captive on Alex's luxury yacht, Natasha finds her trembling fear turns to traitorous shivers of desire. By rights she should despise him, but slowly she finds herself wishing that her bittersweet seduction could last forever.... --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

I didn't like this book at all which is very easy to understand considering the 'hero' was little better than an rapist. He has the heroine brought to him, traps her in his bedroom, orders her to strip, threatens her that if she doesn't he will get his men to do it for her and then has sex with her. His reason for his behaviour is the letter he receives purportedly written by the heroine even though she denies knowledge of this. When he discovers she was a virgin he decides to blackmail her into being his mistress or he will turf her family out of the family home and take what's left of the family business. We later learn that the hero has been in 'love' with the heroine for years but was prevented from seeking her out because of the threats from her godfather. The 'heroes' disgraceful criminal behaviour was more deserving of a prison sentence than being happy every after. Who could love such a 'hero'!!!

I have been reading Sara Craven's books and so far 3 of her books rated 0 to me as they involved rape. This story is not the only story which has a rapist for a hero. "The Forced Bride" and "The Virgin's wedding Night" also has rapists heros.

I really thought these kind of storylines were long gone, but apparently not. Natasha Kirby is kidnapped, held captive, raped and then blackmailed into staying on as the 'mistress' of everybody's favourite alpha male, Alex Mandrakis. What girl hasn't dreamed of that? Instead of kicking, screaming and doing everything she can to avoid this man forcibly taking her virginity, she meekly takes her clothes off and gets into bed with him when she's told. The only remorse he ever expresses, is that she should have told him she was a virgin. Because apparently it's fine to force women to have sex with you, so long as it's not their first time. How could she help but fall for a man like that?
