Format:Audio CD
This LP is only twenty three minutes long, but who cares? You'll just want to play it all over again anyway. Nodzzz are charming, unpretentious, enormous fun and this album is very addictive. I loved it from the first spin, and though it's very immediate and melodic, it also has hidden depths which are only revealed on subsequent listens. The lyrics, at first seemingly straightforward, become oddly enigmatic the more you listen. Similarly, the musical arrangements - though they seem simplistic initially - soon become downright thrilling. Some online reviews of this album seem to have completely missed the point. Brevity does not equal lack of quality. Part of the reason I love this album so much is that it is lean and carefully considered. I'm so sick of hour-long albums stuffed with boring filler. Hats off to Nodzzz for having enough respect for the listener to pack so many hooks, melodies, memorable lines and engaging songs into such a short space of time. PS: This album is further proof, if it were needed, of the consistent quality and excellence of the Woodsist record label.
