Nine mysterious Spinners silently seize control of deep space stations millions of miles from Earth.

But what do these creatures want? Why have they come to the solar system?

4.0 out of 5 stars Synchronicity trilogy 12 Aug 2012

Yes it's the same story - third and final perspective. Well written and enjoyable just like the first two books; the difference with this one - the ending to all three books. Could probably be written as one book switching between views, but I enjoyed it.

It sets in how well thought-out this series is when you realise that the author wasn't just milking the series with the follow ups but was in fact bringing it all together in a grand story of epic proportions ending in a way that truly epic Sci-Fi can leave you in total awe.

Awe at the amazing end to the series and awe that the author had the whole intricate thing planned from the beginning.

Micheal McCloskey is definitely a new favourite author of mine - surpassing Iain M Banks and Stephen Baxter, and joining Stephen Donaldson as a story teller of the highest order.

I eagerly await more from the author and couldn't recommend this series highly enough!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ingenious 26 Jun 2012

It was different to read a trilogy that essentially covered the same events from three different angles. The characters were real enough for you to care about them. The perspective of the aliens was often more laudible than that of the humans. Set in a world where the few are privileged and the many at subsistence level, the goal of the aliens - at the leader was more humane than the stutus quo. It is sad comment on the human race however then an artificial intelligence could gain greater humanity than the human race. Hopefuly the author is just playing with our minds and does not genuinely believe this. The however, is not new and rnages from Asimov's robots to Terminator. An enjoyable read depicting a world that hopefully will never be. Not quite Brave New World or 1984 but not one I'd relish even so. The only people who seem to do well out of it are soldiers and industrial spies. The latter with a higher survival rate than the former.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third one ties it all up 27 Jun 2013

Asher reading the other two books with the angles from earth this one was interesting with the tale from the side of the spinners. Liked the way in which the spinners thought this through too. Be interesting to see if another book(s) continue the evolution/conflict.

A good read.
