Product Description

Product Description

One of the fastest growing A level subjects, Information and Communication Technology is increasingly popular as the "fourth AS level". Revised and edited from the existing A level textbook, this text is written to suit first year sixth students working towards an AS level qualification, and it follows the specification of AQA, the major awarding body. It includes case studies and examples, as well as answers to all activities and exercises.

About the Author

This is a welcome addition to the range of ICT AS books available.

I (and the students) have found it to be a useful student course book with its range of varied exercises and case studies, which supplement the factual in-depth content. Each chapter ends with a number of recent past examination questions for students to practice their understanding and knowledge. An added bonus is the inclusion of answers for the chapter questions.

And…if size is anything to go on then this book is certainly worth looking at – it is thicker than most books which attempt to cover both the AS and A2 elements combined!

Will I like I.T.? 24 Jan 2003

My guess will be "Yes!" Mott and Leeming (in my opinion) have created a sure fire winner for ICT A/S Level students. Chapters are created as bite-size pieces, summary information is given to help you review as well.

But the key to why I think this is better than the previous "best" in my book is that Mott and Leeming keep readers attention through activities, questions, examples, web site links and case studies in EVERY chapter.

I accept the "other" good textbook has all of these but the refreshing and regular changes in Mott and Leemings book steals it for me.

The past exam questions are all really helpful, maybe I'd give a fifth star if there had been more work on the answers section, and more help and advice on passing the exams!

Nonetheless this will be a hit with students, maybe not so much with staff who may want wider reading and more in depth case studies.
