Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Infiniti LightScribe CD-R are compact discs designed to be recordable on any compatible CD writing device. They are also compatible with the vast range of LightScribe direct disc labelling hardware currently available to consumers; These discs allow LightScribe enabled hardware to 'burn' labels directly onto discs in a similar fashion to 'burning' data;Using the 'Burn, Flip, Burn' mantra, users can burn data onto the disc through standard procedures and then flip the disc over onto the light brown labelling side and use LightScribe enabled labelling software to write the label directly to the disc.

A special coating is used on the upper surface of the discs that allow a Lightscribe enabled disc burner to 'burn' a design onto it. Focused light energy from the laser inside a Lightscribe drive causes a chemical reaction on the thin, dye coated surface on the disc. Because there is no printing involved there is no risk of ink smudging or labels peeling off. All Lightscribe designs are etched using the laser already inside your disc drive.

I'm very disappointed with the Quality of the finished Cd's when using the Infiniti brand - the blue in particular is very poor. I will stick with Verbatim lightscribe Cd's which give a much clearer cleaner finish.

lightscribe colour 10 Jun 2009
Thought these would be a good idea being in different colours, but some of these colours are so dark, that when printed come out so pale, can hardly be read - I will stick to the gold coloured ones in future.

A great idea how this system works though.

I normally buy Verbatim disks as so far I have never had a bad one, but I needed something cheap for a project and I bought these. I have used a fair few of these disks and the picture reproduction is not very good on some colours. Blue and Green disks seems to suffer most loss of definition. Although some are better than others they in no way match up to the Verbatim that I normally use. If you want something cheap for a "throw-away" project these are fine, if you want something that will last, go elsewhere.

no problems what so ever with this either quality or delivery wise. Only problem being that I thought I was buying dvdr's. No worries though, will still make use of the discs

Stick to gold
Don't know why, but these colour discs have a far higher failure rate than plain gold - much better to stick to the latter.

Lightscribe
Almost what I was looking for. I do feel however that the images which appear on the disc are a little on the light side

Good quality
The discs are excellent on recording data. The labels are of sufficient to read and therefore use 8 pt fonts
