Infiniti 25GB Recordable/Rewriteable (2x) BD-RE discs Blu-ray discs are the next evolution in the disc media market and allow up to 5 times the data of a single layer DVD to be stored on a single recording layer. They are also much more resilient, due to an enhanced polycarbonate protective layer, than current disc media such as CD and DVD and with the new inorganic based dye, archival life is greatly increased making them a much more reliable data backup medium than CD or DVD. As always, Infiniti only manufacture media to the highest standard and they are worldwide renowned for their high quality media.

I didn't expect too much from these discs having been through the Cd & DVD failures that were very prominent in early disc production. What a surprise when every disc performed flawlessly. With a bit of care you can even use a blue ray disc to store normal DVD format but a lot more of it. Ok it's not a normal DVD as such but it does mean that on a normal blue ray player you can cram 5 times as much of those dreadful home movies on it and keep them in one place. For those who have invested in the now defunct HD media format you can even transfer the film on to a blue ray if you know what you are doing. I would challenge anyone condemning this as a breach of copyright as we were never told how fast our expensive movies would become obsolete!

I have used about 8 of these now and had no problems at all with reliability or quality. I mainly use them for hi-def videos to play back in the PS3 and they are excellent for this, but it is only data after all so I would imagine they are good for all purposes.
They do take quite a while to write, about one and a half to 2 hours for a full one (22.8GB) but this is not unusual for re-writeables.
I have erased and re-written a couple of discs using Roxio and this works well.
I would have no problems with recommending these discs.

BD-RE or not!
Got a new burner for my laptop and thought just get some cheap discs to test it, bad move, out of the 5 discs only 2 work in the burner, well that's cheap discs for you then!

Absolute bargain bd-re discs. Work great on panasonic player after being burnt on LG rewriter.

Luck of the draw
Out of my first pack of 5 discs, only 2 would work in my LG GGW-H20L drive running the latest firmware. The rest simply kept spinning in the drive, I couldn't format them. Read more

Bluray
Does what it says on the pack - discs have to formatted first but only takes a few minutes. I was amazed how much you can get onto one disc!

They work
Very useful, able to back up all my photo files on just three disks.
many files in RAW format, up to 50MG in size.
