So, of course I've used Windows in the past. Since Windows 95 actually, all the way through XP. I consider myself a decently aware user. Let's put it this way: elderly family members call me when they can't get their printer to work.

Anyway, after XP, I was given a Mac as a graduation present. Yes, I do love it, but I'll be honest and say a few things are easier in Windows. As it was, I hadn't used Windows in a few years, and managed to avoid Vista entirely, which in a lot of ways set standards for the user interface that are used by Windows 7.

These videos give a good walkthrough of basically all everyday tasks, with a definite emphasis on the features that are new to Windows 7. And as much as Windows has changed, some things have stayed the same. Anytime I started watching a lesson and I felt like I understood what was going on, I simply skipped ahead to the stuff I needed to know. I think the training is basically geared toward beginners, but I still managed to get a lot out of it.

Once I was done, I passed the DVD along to my dad, who has actually been reluctant to get into computers after all this time. He's about half way through, and his level of comfort has gone way up. So I definitely would recommend the course for people just getting started.

If you really want to see what the course is like, there are preview videos on the Infinite Skills website. They've got a lot of other useful courses, too. I think I might be a little addicted.
