I started using AutoCAD at the recommendation of a friend, who is a professional engineer. I am not a professional engineer. Enough said. This training has helped me through more than once.
I do a lot of construction projects and even make furniture from time to time and typically do it all by hand, but I thought I could save myself some time and effort by planning things in advance. AutoCAD has been around forever, and it's used in all kinds of industries, but for me it is useful as a way to plan my designs, and even make an organized list of required materials and parts.
I couldn't do any of this at first. Honestly, I'm still getting started, but I feel much more comfortable working with the drafting tools now that I have watched this DVD. As my own work projects become more complex and I'm starting to make more money, I'm trying to stay a step ahead and give myself the skills to go the distance.
Brian Benton, the teacher of this course, gives simple walkthroughs and many, many examples. Even if you are a full time design professional, I think this course could be helpful because it features tips about the newest version of AutoCAD, and the way the videos are divided up make it easy to skip past topics you might already know about.
I have watched the videos on my desktop machine and four year old laptop and have never had a problem with playback.
