Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Contrary to impressions, this duo is part human, part machine. Dom is the DJ/Producer whereas Roland is his technological tool of choice. Between the two of them, they produce an intense yet textured form of drum & bass. Although noted for his standard dancefloor tracks, Dom's first album takes a slightly more experimental slant. By turns, radical and pathological, Industry is the sound of someone creating a world of smoky factories, huge machines and faceless people. Dom has reflected what he sees as a dehumanised environment that manages to also grab you and shake you up. From the solid, unmoveable opening cut "Thunder", to the final tech-flexes of "Kinetic" at the end, this album is the sound of industrialised society. The atmospheric slow-burns of "Time" provides some light relief but respite is brief. As soon as "Spirit Train" kicks in it's back on Dom's white knuckle ride. --Paul Sullivan

The opening track, 'Thunder' is quite possibly the best drum and bass track I have ever heard! Breakbeat science at its best. IMHO it is worth owning the album for this track alone. Even better, there are tracks on here that are just as good. Buy this album if you like d&b. You won't be disappointed.

Breathtaking... 19 Feb 2002

This album is amazing. Lately, people have been claiming that drum and bass is on the way out, but this disc destroys all of those whacked out statements. "Thunder" is hard, with killer basslines, but "Elektra" is probably the best track on the CD because of its hauntingly synthetic feel. I recommend this to all fans of true jungle/drum and bass.

This album IS amazing. It's a total ride through Dom and 'Roland's mind, from the spooky opening Thunder to the plain scary 'Elektra' I just loved this album. It's so technical and 'synthetic' you just can't resist, and when the bass-lines kick in you'll be blown away too. Superlatives there aren't enough to describe 'Industry'. Picture yourself on the rain-soaked streets of BladeRunner and then buy this album.
