Product Description

Product Description

The People's Republic of China dominates half the globe, balanced only by the combined power of the decaying Western world. As main players in a new age of expansion, the Chinese reach outward to establish many stations throughout the solar system.

Sun Xinmei is a bold and devious young graduate of Tsinghua University in Beijing who becomes intimately embroiled in the system wide slave trade as an agent of the Ministry of State Security.

Li Feng is a brave young man destined to serve as an officer in the Divine Space Force of the PRC. As such he's trained to lead robotic weapons as much as the men who follow them into battle.

Promised to each other, Xinmei and Feng hope to lead successful careers and someday cross paths again to share prosperous lives.

Though space itself proves to be a harsh frontier, they discover that the greatest obstacles to their plans are the inhabitants of the space stations that dot the solar system.

Industrious is not a conventional sequel to Insidious, rather, its events are concurrent with events in Insidious.

4.0 out of 5 stars Synchronicity trilogy 12 Aug 2012

Wasn't what I expected but nonetheless was a good read seeing the same story(don't let this put you off!) but from a different perspective - an interesting concept. Read the final part of the trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant SciFi 8 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book follows the Chinese protagonists through the same events of the first book but from an entirely different perspective. This is not a re-hashing of the first book but in fact it meshes with it perfectly, filling in details that might have seemed odd from the first book.

Highly recommended - I loved this series - read this, then read the third in the series - it's epic but you need all three to see the whole picture!

Highly Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 21 Jan 2012
By Charles Chodrick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is nothing more than a cheap remake of the first book. These two books could have easily been combined into a much more interesting and captivating book - of course you could not sell it twice! I totally disagree with the premise that separating the two views adds anything but cost. The first book was mildly engaging and left you wondering about the aliens (motives, biology, etc.). The second book adds nothing to this. The ONLY thing it adds is some less than engaging information about 1 of the characters in the first book - again - something that could have been easily inserted in the first book making it a much more interesting read. Very disappointed. Will not be reading other works of this writer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good I guess if I had never read book 1. 8 Jun 2011

I was so disappointed with this book. Insidious was an absolutely amazing book that I absolutely loved. So when I picked up this book I was very excited. However I discovered that as I read it was the same story all over again. To be fair that was in the item description, I just didn't bother to read it. I have read other books that retold a previous story that were well worth reading. I found the characters in this one dull and predictable. I really didn't care for the Chinese faction in this book and I can't help but viewing them as the "other" bad guys in the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unique way to do a sequel 17 Nov 2013
By Osty789 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Same story as book 1 told from a different viewpoint. Yet even though I knew how the major events were going to turn out I still read the entire book in one sitting. (Next day at work was ugly.)

5.0 out of 5 stars All three books are an excellent read! 22 Aug 2013
By El Tea - Published on Amazon.com

This is a very fun approach to seeing a story from multiple viewpoints - each of the books covers the same tale, but from the perceptions and moral interpretations of different protagonists. Michael has stated he enjoys not having a defined good and evil, and these books are true to that goal. I highly enjoy the story you get when you strip away the black and white hats, leaving you to enjoy the consequences of a rapidly advancing technology pressed against human frailties. If you like scifi in its truest sense, you should love these books.

1.0 out of 5 stars I felt that too many of the scenes were repetitious and not well developed 2 Mar 2013
By Ronald Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Too much of the story was a repeat of the book before this and not as good.
I bought all 3 in the series and I hope it is developed with more depth.
Mind you, I have not tried to write a book. I am certain that it is difficult.
I personally would have enjoyed something with more excitement building in it.
Toward the end I kept speeding through the pages and every time I stopped it seemed like the same words were being repeated. The character names, the Links, etc. simple fare.
