German publisher Steidl (in association with RAM and The Whitney Museum) have compiled this slipcased edition of classic early works by the American photographer Lewis Blatz. The set contains "The Prototype Works", "The Tract Houses" and "The New Industrial Parks Near Irvine, California", each presented as a separate volume.
In these photographs Baltz applied a Minimalist aesthetic to his exploration of late 60's and early 70's American West Coast suburban concrete sprawl. For anyone interested in the development of Contemporary Photography and/or Minimalist art, this collection is essential. The books are presented with all the usual Steidl attention to quality and the tritone reproductions are nothing short of stunning.
A classic publication.
