Along with two other Detroit electronic music producers, John Beltran has produced an album full of the most stirring electronic sounds you could imagine. A beautiful ambient album with beats, any fan of Beltran's solo work or Detroit Techno in general should love this mellow and quite brilliant record.
The Detroit ambience of 'Earth Tones', the beautiful 'Kino Flow', the electronic ripples of 'Abolene' and the wonderful 'Snowdrifts', should be enough to make you happy that you purchased this exceptional album.

Beltran, beltran 6 Feb 2002
By Carlos Jürschik - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
It's just as good as the best John Beltran. Some tracks rival the best parts in "Ten days of blue". Maybe, like the other reviewer, you were looking for something else, but the gentle techno can't go much better than this. Tracks like the drum 'n bass "I need you in the fall" are as absolutely beautiful as rich in rythms.
Indio - Indio 22 Feb 2011
By scoundrel - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Considering how Detroitian John Beltran's early albums were, it's no surprise then that his Indio project appears on perhaps the definitive Detroit label, Transmat. Beltran here returns to the smooth, complex arrangements that marked his work on Peacefrog. "I Need You in the Fall" is a fragile number, complemented by a melancholy piano line and some light bleeps. "A Thousand Storms," instead of being all thunder and lightning, is more a light rain falling from an overcast sky. And the final track, "Snowdrifts," does exactly that: drift along with some icy synth sweeps. Transmat, though not prolific, nonetheless delivers the goods.

meandering techno lite 9 April 2000
By chris - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
john beltran has released a few decent albums under his own name for r & s records and peacefrog respectively. here, as indio, beltran's joined by seth taylor and sam mcqueen and like his solo output, this is new age techno for the Windham Hill crowd. here beltran and his cohorts have the unfortunate tendency of coating their subtle beats with a new age veener of meandering synth string streaks and echoed piano twinklings replete with titles like "a thousand storms" and "earthtones." this is music that wouldn't be out of place in the cd racks of a sante fe crystal healing shop along side the likes of hearts of space and narada recording artists. soft, gentle and utterly vapid, this music has all the spirituality and groove of change rattling in a cash registrar.

Beltran at its best 3 Dec 1999
By Jaap de Groot - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I haven't heard it yet but it's John Beltran so i'll rate it a five before listening to it. This CD seems to be an ambient drum n bass affair packed with moody and dreamy soundscapes only this Detroit Techno Master is able to produce. It is supposed to be his best work ever (when is it not). Hey, if you like dreamy and moody techno you should make sure to listen to Ten Day's of Blue he recorded under his real name John Beltran. He also recorded under Placid Angles. This Artits could well be the most brilliant dance music musician in my opinion. Don't you miss him now! - trust me!
