Product Description

Product Description

Indicare has been specifically designed to provide an always accessible emergency first aid solution for your baby. It can support you should you be fully trained, have little knowledge of emergency first aid or even none at all. The guide provides information on how to do CPR and deal with choking. It came about after its inventor, Sarah Tague, had a terrifying experience when her child started choking whilst on a family holiday. Her baby daughter was eating a banana whilst strapped safely into her pushchair when she started choking. Panic set in and Sarah couldn’t get the straps undone, everyone in the restaurant was now watching adding to her panic. At last she finally managed to get her out of the pram and gave her 3 firm slaps to the back--on the 3rd slap the banana dislodged. Fortunately, this was a happy ending but it could have been different and gave Sarah a wake-up call. What would have been the next step if the back slaps hadn’t worked? After much research Sarah couldn’t find the type of portable guide she wanted, one that she could take everywhere with her, so decided to develop it herself.

This Indicare Portable Infant Emergency First Aid Guide comes in the form of a convenient, compact (5cm x 5cm) polypropylene water resistant concertina booklet. Two magnetic tabs allow the guide to be opened quickly and closed securely. It also has a (detachable) clasp which ensures easy removal from any item they are attached to, such as bags, keys, prams/buggies and zips. This means that the Indicare Infant first aid guide can be with your baby at all times, be it at home, abroad, in the car, shopping, with the carer or on public transport. It contains fully illustrated steps on how to do CPR and deal with choking as well as having clear, concise, easy to follow instructions for every step. This should allow the parent/carer to visually use it to support them. It is highly recommended that all Indicare users read through and become familiar with each step so they are further prepared in case an emergency arises. Indicare has been approved by the Senior Resuscitation Officer of the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. The guidance provided is in accordance with the 2005 European Resuscitation council guidelines.

My only complaint with this was that the clip breaks off very easily so it now resides in the depths of the changing bag, which wouldn't be ideal in an emergency.
