The Indian Tipi is a mine of information on that most beautiful Native American dwelling, the tipi.
This well written book covers the history or the Tipi, has full details of how to make and pitch a tipi and much useful information about living in one. It is the best book I've seen on tipi design and is the book I used to make my Tipi, ...

THE LAUBINS DESCRIBE HOW TO MAKE A TIPI WITH ENOUGH DETAIL AND WITHOUT TEDIOUS TECHNICALITY, THIS VERY PRACTICAL APPROACH IS LIGHTENED BY THE CHARM OF THEIR ANECDOTES AND OBVIOUS REVERENCE FOR TIPI LIFE. THIS MAKES IT AN INSPIRATIONAL READ INSTEAD OF JUST A HOW-TO BOOK - THEIR ENTHUSIASM BREATHES POETRY AND SPIRIT INTO MY IMAGINATION, GIVING ME THE RESOLVE TO PUT MY TIPI UP AND START LIVING WELL AGAIN.

I found this book to be an excellent source of information on the tipi. From sewing one up to living in one, this is the book you need.
The Indian Tipi includes detailed instructions for building a tipi, setting it up, and alot of other info, such as recipes, crafts, decorating your lodge, and more. Excellent!
